Game Description

Game Brief
19th level characters fighting high-level monsters.

Backstory
You had been summoned to help save the realm in the name of the king. You gathered with the countless warriors and were chosen to be one of six that would go to defeat the evil Arch-Warlock, Malfion, who had been plaguing the realm with deadly assaults on villages, summoning evil beings, and working to undo the fabric of life.

You're party traversed the hundreds of miles to reach his mountain fortress and braved the monstrosities therein. You reached the top of the Great Spire, the focus point for his dark deeds, and confronted him about his wickedness. The battle began violently when Malfion fired a death ray that vaporized one of the party. The remaining five charged on from there, wading through the summoned beasts and reanimated corpses.

Finally, the group reached Malfion, despite the barrage of incoming demons. It appeared that the battle would be won as Malfion lay bloodied on the ground in front of his throne, when he raised his hand to the sky, laughing. In an instant, lightning struck the tower and a rift opened in the floor, pulling the remaining party members in.

When they awoke, the party was in a strange land, centered around a massive stone circle (nearly 100 feet across). At first, there seemed to be no reason to anything. Wild beasts and wilder monsters roamed the country side, and every day a piece of the stone circle slides clockwise. After some study, it appears that the circle is counting down to something... an event. Months go by and the true meaning of the clock is discovered: it's counting back from one thousand. Every expedition leads to some terrifying enemy and eventually back to the stone circle. Years go by, but no one seems to age; wounds heal, hair stays colorful, and wrinkles are kept at bay; though, every battles grants them more experience.

Finally, the stone clock is nearing the end of it's thousand-year cycle. the party stands at the center and waits through the night. As soon as the sun breaks the horizon, the final shift happens and the circle begins to rumble. From the outside-in, the circle crumbles and falls into nothingness, finally bringing the party with it. They awake once more to find a familiar land with unfamiliar aspects. The sky was dark and life seemed bleak. Distant fires could be seen and the roar of dragons could be heard.

You will band together to finish your millennium-old task: defeat Malfion and undo the havoc he has wreaked.
