The League of Immortals
Many dream of immortality, few attempt to achieve it, and far fewer still actuality attain it. You are among the third group, the exceedingly lucky minority who have realized that death is wrong and can be defeated. But you've also witnessed every mortal you love eventually die, suffered the occasional haunting from their ghosts, and had to adapt through ever changing times. It is thus, that you have eventually sought out other immortals and formed a group of like-minded individuals; the League of immortals.
Based in Boston Massachusetts, the League has accumulated prestige among the local supernatural community. Bribes of money, knowledge, and artifacts has protected the league from the predations of Vampires, being targeted by Werewolves, and convinced the leaders of Bostons mages to prevent mages from harming/hindering its members. These same things used to bribe have also allowed the leagues members to build contacts and possibly allies with other--non-hostile--supernatural beings.
However, this relatively pleasant slice of eternity has now hit a road-bump. For strange things have recently been stirring. Accounts of strange supernatural creatures and a mysterious cult called the "house of the undying" that seems to be obsessed with summoning an unknown entity. While this would normally not be a major concern for immortals, both occurrences seem to be targeting supernatural beings and mortals aware of the supernatural. The vampire society of the city seems oblivious and the mages are far too secretive to share what they know (not to mention being sufficiently powerful to protect themselves). And thus this leaves the less organized and less protected, as those of the league find more and more of their equally not quite human acquaintances disappearing.
