Game Description

You stand defeated. Everything stripped from you, nothing to your name but the clothes on your back. As you begin to think things couldn't get any worse, it begins to rain. You find what shelter you can, but it's one hell of a storm. The looming clouds easily darken the midday sun that had been shining so brightly only moments before.

Someone bumps into you, seeking shelter from the rain under a dark cloak hood, the material already soaked through as it clings to their skin. Before you know what is happening they grab your wrist and shove a soft leather pouch into your hand, adorned with a solitary yellow gem sewn into the side. By the weight of it, it's most definitely full but of what you're not sure. A quick check around you reveals no further sign of the stranger, or anyone else nearby to view what had just happened. You swiftly hide it on your person in desperation to keep it for yourself.

You move out of the rain and open the pouch, but not before a second glance; you're again certain no one could be watching. The first thing you see is an envelope made from the finest vellum, and a masterful penmanship addresses the letter to you. The envelope is a lot larger than the pouch that holds it, but you soon realise that the leather pouch holds a lot more than it seems to be capable of. A quick jostle reveals the presence of coins, and many of them.

Your attention turns to the letter and the compulsion to read the contents straight away. As you pull it from the envelope the keep edge of the letter catches your thumb and a single droplet of blood falls and soaks into the parchment.

At the acceptance of this gift, you are now mine to do with what I wish. What has passed is past. Your future is mine to sculpt.

Now-now, do not scoff young one for this contract is binding, as your blood attest. Or do you deny that droplet I can taste so freely was not of your own?

All is not lost as much as you may deny it, and all is most definitely not bad. Take this gift and outfit yourself with the tools of your trade and make sure you are presentable by the time you come to see me; because you will come to see me. The compulsion you feel is intentional as the Geas shall lead you to me.

I look forward to meeting you, young one.

The flash of a location sears into your mind, presenting itself in your mind's eye as though it was your own memory. There is a grove within the Eldeen Reaches that leads to the entrance of the location you seek. Before you even give it a second
thought, your legs begin to carry you forward.

---

You somehow find your way to the location you see in your memories to find a portal that opens before you. What you see before you is a magnificent tower that seems to sit within a pocket plane of its own. The moment you step through the portal it closes behind you. The tower itself looks to be built from interlaced scales of ivory and obsidian rather than stone bricks. In fact it would look to be more of a fortress than a tower, if it wasn't for its height. Your legs carry you to the doorway where you are greeted by a human gentleman that doesn't mutter a single word and only seems to communicate with gestures.

He leads you through a grand foyer that has three staircases leading upwards, spiralling up to the levels above you. Artwork adorns each wall depicting a myriad of different subjects from scenes from battles long since fought to portraits of women and children and peaceful landscapes. As many as there are, all of the paintings share a similar style and brushstroke as though created by the same person. Glass display cases line the walls of each corridor you are lead down, containing weapons, pieces of armor and various items of great interest and curiosity. The carpet beneath your feet is a voluptuous red velvet with a pile so deep that the spring under your feet feels like walking on fresh grass.

You are finally lead into a dining room that has a table laid and places set for at least twenty people. Spread before you down the centre of the large table is a multitude of different foods and drinks, platters and desserts. There are some people already sitting at the table, looking up at your arrival. Finally your guide speaks to you. You are told to make yourself comfortable and to help yourself, and informed that the master shall be in attendance shortly.
