The Space Between Stars
The space between stars is where the truth of the Universe hides.
The Universe is a riddle, wrapped in a mystery, inside an enigma and unfolds itself slowly and often confusingly to those who are looking for answers. As Douglas Adams wrote “There is a theory which states that if ever anyone discovers exactly what the Universe is for and why it is here, it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable. There is another theory which states that this has already happened.”
It probably already happened. Sorry.
What is left for to be found for those still willing to step out into the Universe?
Well, how about the cold harshness of space? The irony being that once your race was able to make it to the level where space travel became the common, the Universe suddenly became a lot larger and even unkinder. For every step closer to understanding the nature of the cosmos, it would inexplicably take two steps backwards almost purposely hiding the truth. So, you take another step further into the mysteries and there were many others waiting for your race out there, some wanted to chat and exchange information, while others simply wanted to take the resources out from under you without knowing, and even others simply wanted to see your race exterminated.
This is the story of a group of those who stepped in the correct direction, who came really close to finding out the truth of the Universe in which they live. It wasn’t what they were expecting, and the journey was as coldly unforgiving as it was unexpected. This is their story, this is the truth of what they found between the light of stars.
