Game Description

Greetings!

Saga of the Green Cloaks is my first game, my little foray into Post by Post Game mastering, which will serve as the introduction into my home-brewed world!

Please be aware of the specifics of my campaign! This will help you create characters that have a higher chance of being chosen, since they will fit in nicely with my campaign setting. A gothic psychic with cyberimplants sounds cool, but strangely out of place when supposed to be enrolled in a high middle-ages militia force!

Because yes, the titular Green Cloaks are a militia force! Guarding Hake, or 'hope' in the language of men (more on languages in the wiki and in description threads), they are in charge of levying taxes from merchants that enter the city, patrolling the streets at night, keeping order and garrisoning the many, many keeps of the sprawling metropolis. At least, that is the case in times of peace.

Peace, for many of the inhabitants of Hake, is a long-forgotten concept. The City has been besieged by the Dragons for two interminable years now. Thanks to their enormous granaries and powerful magic-wielders, the inhabitants have survived so far, but they cannot leave. The Dragons kill any who try to sneak out, and at night they destroy any houses not protected by the Ballistas installed on the keeps, ruthlessly burning or devouring those living creatures they find.

Hake is a dangerous place outside the walls of your keep, which you have been garrisoning for twenty four long months. There are reports of wild bands of murderous orphan bands and killers on the loose. Yet that is not the worse. From the top of the towers of the keeps, strange lights can be seen moving throughout the city, green fires being lit with strange, disjointed figures dancing around them, which the Dragons do not attack. Are they allies? Or worse still, are the dragons afraid of what lurks in the ruins of Hake, City of Hope, Home of Men?
