The Choking Blight
You've just recently arrived in the small up-river port town of Lithas' Falls. This bustling hub of commerce connects the larger coastal cities with the more remote towns in the forests and foothills to the west. Being mid-fall season now, there aren't as many boats out along the river as when the weather is warmer. There's still plenty of trading caravans arriving over land, though, and the open-air market is as busy as ever.
As you take in the sights of the city, you pass by a few notable locations. A large dwarven-run bakery sells hot meat and mushroom pie's, the baker's wife shouting prices at passersby as she carries a tray through the streets. Across the way, an Apothecary shop sells and trades for all manner of herbs, powders, and other reagents. But perhaps the main attraction of the town is a large, well-worn alehouse, The Grinning Goblin Inn.
Aside from boasting a diverse food menu including everything from fresh-caught fish to wild game to the meat pies and pastries of Orni's Authentic Dwarven Delights, the Inn also has its own brewery by the river, where they brew Grinning Goblin porters, meads, and seasonal ales. It's a well-known favorite among travelers, both for its food and drink and for its welcoming atmosphere, and there's no better place in the city to find a hot meal and a warm bed.
