Down in the Valley
The valley of Sochondong is a town on the edge of civilization, where frontiersmen huddle together for safety in the dark. Short, furious winters close the passes once a year, and trappers brave the wilderness, weather and monsters for furs to trade. Orcish Lumberjacks ply their trade, while the more cosmopolitan humans build a government and community. Jealous farmers quarrel for the best spots in a valley fertile enough to sprout a stone. Many flock here for profit, to start a new life, or to forget an old one.
Secrets and shadows are the mainstay of any community like this, and having Orcs and Humans in the same space never goes well for long. There's little difference 'tween justice and revenge this far out on the edge, and who's right isn't as important as who's fast...
