Game Description

Kingmaker
Be it so known that the bearer of this charter has been charged by the Swordlords of Restov, acting upon the greater good and authority vested within them by the office of the Regent of the Dragonscale Throne, has granted the right of exploration and travel within the wilderness region known as the Greenbelt. Exploration should be limited to an area no further than thirty-six miles east and west and sixty miles south of Oleg’s Trading Post. The carrier of this charter should also strive against banditry and other unlawful behavior to be encountered. The punishment for unrepentant banditry remains, as always, execution by sword or rope. So witnessed on this 24th day of Calistril, under watchful eye of the Lordship of Restov and authority granted by Lord Noleski Surtova, current Regent of the Dragonscale Throne.

Setting: The Stolen Lands, a 35,000 mile swath of land wedged in between the nation of Brevoy and the River Kingdoms. who stole them and from whom depends upon who you're talking to at the moment. Plagued by banditry and lawlessness, the area is constantly invaded, conquered and retaken by various groups of humanoids, fey, and things much darker. The heroes of our story have taken it upon themselves-at the request of Brevoy-to stabilize the area.

Premise: I plan on taking on the role of more of a Game Moderator in this PbP, I want the players to be the ones who truly set the tone and pace of the campaign. This will be a more laid back game in terms of advancement, we'll probably use the fast advancement track and primarily focus on characters gaining experience during key encounters and hand wave random encounters unless they're critical.

Characters: Between 5 and 8 characters will be accepted at the beginning of this game. Acceptable characters will be of a neutral or good alignment, interested in seeing a kingdom succeed and in ruling it cooperatively. Materials from the Core Rulebook and the Advanced Player's Guide are acceptable for the moment.

Players: A knowledge of Pathfinder or the Kingmaker Adventure Path is not required for this campaign. What is required is an eagerness to play, the ability to keep a good level of energy and involvement. Those that have read or intend to read the Kingmaker Adventure Path are not discouraged from joining, though there should be a strict separation between what the Player knows and what the Character knows.

I'd also like to see several positions filled here for helpers for running the game. Someone who's good at graphics and design would be welcome to help with map making for the kingdom and combat. I'd also appreciate at least one player who was really quite knowledgeable about the Pathfinder setting and is eager to share that knowledge with others without sounding arrogant or like a know it all. Finally anyone who'd be interested in helping fill in as an assistant to help me handle combat would be welcome.

I would dearly and truly love to see people be able to post at least 5-6 times a week, if not more.

Character Creation: Core and APG are acceptable sources. Two traits are allowed, you can't select two from the same list obviously and those that are listed in the Paizo Character Traits Supplement and the The Kingmaker Player's Guide are allowed. (No other sources of traits, please.) Characters will be built using the point buy method with 20 points. Characters will be first level at the start of this game. After first level, HP will be 3/4 of maximum, rounded down. (If you advance in a class with a D10 hit points, you gain 7 hp for the level.)

When submitting your character you can include as much description and background as you feel is appropriate. In your application I'd also like to see each player list two unusual items: first what position they'd really like to see the character fill in the kingdom, see list below, as well as what position they'd settle for instead. I'd also like each player to list any 'tricks' or 'schtick' they see their character using or eventually using as they level up. For example a Wizard might mention he's going solely for a dedicated utility caster or a Fighter wants to become an AC juggernaut. If you feel giving away this would hinder the character, include it in [private] tags so only I can see it.

Equip your character using first level starting gold. (Max)
