It's been three months since the utter destruction of the Red Court and the supernatural world is steel reeling from the resultant power vacuum. Whispers abound of the night of terrible dreams, terrible rumors of black magic and the work of one rogue wizard. Minor talents have been kidnapped, old power structures have crumbled to dust, and even the most hidebound vampires have started looking at the world with fresh eyes. It is a time of turmoil, danger, and even possibility.
It is no different in Portland, Oregon – the City of Roses. The Rose Queen sits uneasy on her throne of petals, contemplating the best way to tighten her grip upon the city, her court of Summer Fae eager to play with the mortals once more. The White Court watches from the shadows, peddling vice as they have for centuries. Things still darker skulk in the forgotten corners of the city, eager to prey once more upon the mortals they once found so succulent.
The White Council is nowhere to be seen in this city of fugitives and refugees. They have bigger problems than one city in the Pacific Northwest. The old warden is missing and probably dead, all but forgotten in these troubled times. Few in the city have the knowledge, power, or talent to fight back against dangers both new and old. Only you and a few stalwart companions stand between humanity and the growing darkness that seeks to trample the City of Roses.
