Game Description

An old man, scholarly in dress, steps out into the night. Leaving behind a large house which has long moved past it's prime, he steps through the front gate and into the street. One trembling hand carefully closes the gate behind him - the other grips a large, metal-bound book as he squeezes it tight against his body.

Moving slowly, he passes through the rising fog as he makes his way down the lane. His walks with an odd shuffle - as if he's wrestling with himself on which direction to proceed - forward or backward. Even so, with a determined look in his eye, he makes his way inch by inch toward his destination.

It's clear to any observer that some heavy burden weighs greatly on the man's shoulders. With all his will, he forces himself toward an unknown fate. It's a task he feels he MUST complete - at any cost. Yet, his determination is tinged with sadness and regret. And for perhaps a brief moment, anger and resentment...

Stepping into this world will put your life - and your sanity - into grave peril. Unknown forces move people and events around like pieces on a chess board. Malevolent powers seek to inflict their dark desires onto an unaware humanity. Despite the overwhelming odds that they will be killed, driven insane, or perhaps far worse, a few stout souls seek to push back this darkness. However, there are things that man was never meant to know - yet perhaps only by learning those horrid secrets does mankind stand a chance to fight the void.

Are YOU willing to put all at risk for your fellow man? Do you have what it takes to face cold horror, and yet do what needs to be done? If so, fate has brought you to the right spot - a berth aboard the S.S. Saint Roberts. She's leaving Los Angeles on May 5th, 1932 - destination Shanghai. Step aboard!
