Free Pen & Paper RPGs
I've been playing a lot of GURPS lately and I want to try something different. Can anyone usggest free RPGs I can try out?
|
BASH is free (Basic Action Super Heroes). Very simplistic system.
There's a Fallout RPG that is free. |
If only there were some way to search the web and find information like this...a way you could enter 'Free Pen & Paper RPGs' in, I don't know...a search bar...perhaps then you could return a result like The Free RPG Compendium.

The OP isn't looking for a list of Free RPG's, they are looking for a recommendation of something good. That's the reason to come here instead of Google.
If you are into something simpler, I might recommend the Classic Marvel RPG. It's free, easy to pickup and you can get going with totally randomly generated characters. It was always my go-to system when I had to start a game in ten minutes. http://www.classicmarvelforever.com/...d-modules.html |
I ran a really enjoyable barbarians of Lemuria game for some friends of mine. The system isridiculously simple, and the setting is so pulpy it's fantastic.

D&D 3.5 is free through their SRD page. You might also take a look at FATE. A guy from GitP is constantly working to tweak his homebrew project of FFD6, if you're interested in running a Final Fantasy game. I think Savage Worlds has a quick-and-dirty starter guide that you can download for free as well.

Microlite20 and MiniSix are both great, free, rules light RPG systems

+1 to classic marvel forever, the faserip system might be a bit strange and take a little getting used to but it is really really fun to play with.
