Alleana Goldeneyes
Alleana
Alleana
Physically, Alleana is a 5ft11 elven maiden with long silver hair and golden eyes. However that hardly begins to describe the impression she makes. She is a walking contradiction. Her appearance is graceful and ethereal, her hair seems to float in the lightest wind without somehow ever remaining disarayed or flying into her eyes. Her fingers and limbs are long and slender. She almost seems to glow, light not quite shining from her hair and eyes but seeming as if it should.
And yet her clothes are very human, very functional, and also very neat and well kept. The colours are varied and often rather loud and do not at all seem to go with the fair elven maiden.
Her eyes, despite their golden glow that radiates a depth of empathy and compassion, also radiate mischief and fun most unbecoming of the elven maid she seems to be.
Alleana has no immediate goals. She has just become what is for her or a human an adult, but for elves would still be considered a child. She is making her way in the world in a much softer place, she thinks, than the streets she grew up in. She is taking her first steps into adulthood and has not decided what kind of life she wants for herself, except that it should be fun and interesting and involve seeing a lot of different things, meeting a lot of different people and trying every variety of sweet and cake the world has to offer.
At the same time, she also wants acceptance from Sandpoint and to be considered as belonging there, even if she plans to make frequent trips out. She has had no real home and maybe Sandpoint can be it.
Alleana is warm and friendly. She is also mischievous and seemingly whimsical at times. To many, she would be considered naive. But in fact she is not. There is something special about her soul. Most elves who grow up amongst humans are called the Forlorn by their elven brethren, because seeing friends grow old and die over and over again damages their souls. But Alleana is not Forlorn. She has seen a lot of death and suffering and none of it has stained her soul. Somehow she can see the evil, the corruption, the lies, the death and the suffering, she can see it for what it is and still remain unstained by the experience. Which is not to say she doesnt care. She retains compassion without depression and understanding without cynicism. There is a light within her soul that will not go out. Quite literally since she can manifest light where she pleases.
Alleana has no idea where she was born. All she knows is that she grew up in Magnimar. The woman she thought of as her mother was an old human woman, a hedge witch of sorts, who lived in the slums. Alleana has no idea how she ended up with her, but her earliest memories are of her. As far as Alleana knows, she was about 6 at the time, and remained with her for 4 years until she died.
The old woman cared for Alleana but was very old and frail. Alleana ran erands, carrying potions, learning to brew herbs when the old lady could no longer do it for herself. But one day, the old woman died. The city watch came to take the corpse away, and Alleana, now wanting to end up in the orphanage, ran away taking only the bracelet that had always been hers and had, she was told, belonged to her real mother. The bracelet was braided from strands of a strange silver with a blue sheen, and had an inscription in elvish on the inside. 'Alleanielle Telsendra, last of the line of hawks.' Though it was obviously where the old lady had her name from, Alleana has never found out any more about it. Due to fear of being robbed, she kept it safely hidden for years under a rooftile.
Life got a lot worse for Alleana then. The streets were not friendly, and she soon learnt to keep out of sight which her elven grace made easier. She had to learn to steal to survive, and became more and more profficient at it, both actual stealing and trickery. Despite her circumstances, she mostly stole from those she believed would not be harmed by it. At least by her idea of harmed.
However, within a year, she had come to the attention of the gang that ran a good part of the slums and docks. Cornered and captured, the young girl was forced to work for them. She had an innocent air about her, and the gang used that to train her to deceive people into letting her into their home or distracting them while other thieves did their work. This went on for a couple of years, when another gang tried to take over the docks. The ensueing fight caused much bloodshed, and Alleana escaped in the confusion.
She knew there was nowhere in the city that she could hide for long, so she ran out into the countryside. However whilst she was adept at living in the streets, she knew nothing of the wilds, and was soon lost, hungry and desperate. It was then, huddling by the side of the road in the raid, that a soft hand came down on her shoulder. An elven priestess of Desna, Silariel Meralna, on her way north, had seen her there and wondered what an elven girl was doing alone in the rain.
With Alleana unable to provide answers other than showing her bracelet, she took the young girl with her northwards until weeks later, they reached Sandpoint.
It was there that she introduced Alleana to Shalela Andosana. She told Alleana she would enquire after the name on her necklace and see if she could find her family. She would return with news. But that was many years ago and Silariel has never returned.
So Shalelu has brought up Alleana. When she travelled or went to fight goblins, Shalelu had left her with the church and the other orphans there, Nuala Tobyn and Tsuto Kajitsu, who became friends. But she always came back to fetch her when she could. She taught Alleana the way to survive in the wild, and a love of animals and nature, though Alleana never gained the understanding of nature the ranger possessed.
So Alleana grew up, and is now a young woman. She has left the woods now being old enough to live by herself, and come to Sandpoint. Here she hopes to find a place to stay and make enough money to pay for it. She has the skills to sleep rough if she needs to but hopes she won't have to. She has no real idea yet what she is going to do, but she is as always optimistic and excited even if she has only a handful of silvers and coppers in her pockets.
Religion:
Alleana is curious about religion, but is too flighty and lighthearted to be devoted. However if anyone asks, she would reply that she is a worshipper of Desna, and considers herself so, because she was saved by a Desnian priestess. She however respects and is is interested in any other religion she encounters, but then she is curious about most things.
Between Adventures
She has not had any adventures yet but she is grown now (from her perspective anyway) and intends to have some. She wants to be accepted and to make friends, and likes to spend time with friends. Not just the members of the group but other townsfolk she meets and likes. Eating, dancing, singing, and partying are all fun as far as she is concerned, but helping friends out is fun too. She has not had many friends yet and hopes to change that now that she is striking out on her own.
Wronged
If she were wronged, it would depend on degree. She may ignore minor wrongs and simply mention to others that so and so is a bad person. For more serious or annoying wrongs, she may react with a prank designed to teach them a lesson. If pickpocketed, well she is a rogue. She would likely return the favour in kind and consider it a contest. As long as the item taken was not too precious to her, such as her bracelet.
Someone doesn't like you. But instead of going after you, they beat up a tavern wench who is your friend. What do you do?
This is one instance where Alleana would lose her sense of humour and get angry. She would either confront them and return the beating, or find their house and throughly trash it. Steal their horse, or do something of equivalent harm. if she can think of a way to do it, she prefers to teach a lesson in a different way to simply beating them up. However if they persisted and ignored the lesson and hurt her friends again, Alleana would hurt them back.
Someone really likes you.
Alleana would let them buy her drinks and be friendly. She wouldnt trash talk them, would let them claim to be her friend, and wouldn't sleep with them. She would accept the friendship and try to keep them from making too much of a fool of themselves.
Someone used to bully you
She would help them, especially if it did involve saving their daughter. However she would get her own back in some harmless way. Once the job was done, she might buy them a few drinks too many at the bar and they might wake up with their head shaved wearing only womens underwear (if male) next to the town well. After all, we had so much fun as kids perhaps we can have some more fun now.
Favorite item
A bracelet of elven make with an inscription in elvish 'Alleanielle Telsendra, last of the line of hawks.' given to her by her mother, though she has no memory of her. Clearly it is her name, though she is used to the shorter human form, but she has no idea what is meant by the rest of it.
Extra Credit : Answer These Questions in Brief (One or two lines at most)
What is your character's favorite food: Chocolate. Sweets. Cake. More chocolate. Sweet things. Honey. With chocolate.
Where do they get their clothing cleaned? (Or do they just throw away dirty things and buy more?): She uses her prestidigitation cantrip.
Name One Guilty Pleasure.: Honey mead. She loves it. She generally doesnt much like alcohol, but sweet honeymead is irresistable. Sadly she drinks so little that she can't take her drink, so its usually a bit of a disaster if she is given too much mead. As in drunk, singing, and pranking.
Is your character allergic to anything? She hates getting dirty. Mud is ok as is grass stains and most natural things, but anything smelly or filthy really disgusts her and she is not happy untill she can clean it off.
When was the last time your character laughed? A few minutes ago, and probably again in a moment.
