I wasn't sure where to put this, but Wizards accidentally left a forum unlocked/visible for a time which reveals that Fourth Edition is in fact being released in May 2008.

:p That, sir, is highly debatable, as my link contains that info and much more. It is simply a larger thread, so there are more personal opinions mixed in with the details. To each his own though.

It also has screenshots of the 4E forum(before they hid it) and other quotes taken from conversations hinting at things. However, the Wizards boards are down for routine maintenance. =/

As in regard to conversation hinting at things, well, usually those are mainly blurred and hard to judge. Heck, I mean, even the article we quoted is blurred and hard to judge . . .

Yup, the 4th Ed announcement was clearly the big deal at GenCon this year, right now about the only thing that isn't just rumor and unconfirmed speculation is that it will exist, it will be D20, it will roll out late spring early summer next year and the core books will run the game to level 30. Everything else is pure speculation AFAIK.

I will note that they specifically refused at several opportunities to discuss the issue of backwards compatibility or conversion guides, draw your own conclusions.

There is talk about 4th edition's integration in to the digital age. A sample of the abilities can be seen on Youtube. This may change/enhance the way Myth-weavers operates with the abilities to generate character icons, maps and real-time games.
