Description
Tall and dark, her ebony skin seems to draw in the light around her. Men and women both are enchanted by her beauty just as they are repelled by the aura of uneasiness surrounding her. Her white hair, decorated with a jade comb, is long and straightened, framing an oval face marked by flashing brown eyes and full lips. Her deft and deliberate movements accentuate the strength and agility in her athletic body. At least, that's how she looks wearing her Hat of Disguise. Without the hat, she is everything described, but just less so. On her left hand, a brand-scar marks her as cast out by the Church of the Silver Flame.
Personality
Evil and Good, to Lydia Snow, are merely a function of the energies within the body. Those who dabble in negative energy are slowly corrupted by it, as it upsets the balance within. She fully understands the price of her vocation (eternal damnation after death), but also understands the rewards (power, eternal life). Through her studies, she's read of those who failed in reaching the goal she keeps for herself. Her conclusion is that their failure resulted in being controlled by the evil within instead of controlling it. Creating powerful enemies through wanton destruction is not the straightest nor the surest road to power. Instead, structure and integrity are her mandates, her shield against the evil within.

Found as an infant and taken in by Magenos, a minor prefecture of the Silver Flame, Lydia(named after her foster father's deceased sister) lived the first years of life in relative comfort, raised as one of the prefectures own daughters despite her adopted status. At the age of 10, Lord Bennett, a minor noble with strong ties of the church, insisted in taking her as payment for mounting debts placed on the prefecture. Reluctantly, Magenos acquiesced. The next several years, Lydia lived a life of indentured servitude. While treated kindly enough by the Lord Bennett, who provided her with a full education (in addition to her tasks as a servant), it was her peers that made her life Hell. Lydia was hated for being a servant and not of a noble line. She was called "Snow White" or just "Snow" in mockery of the dark color of her skin. It was these same arrogant children who, through deceit, managed to lock Lydia in a "haunted" catacomb near the village. Suppressing her fear, Lydia navigated her prison. Its denizens were at peace, so the girl was left alone through the night to contemplate existence and the nature of life and death. Soon rescued from the tomb, Lydia began a study of mysticism and necromancy using the Lord's extensive library. Her studies raised suspicion and the Lord Bennett, upon finding Lydia reading some book of vile darkness, banished her as a witch. Required by law to mark her on the face with the hot brand, he felt compassion and marked her on the hand instead. Thus Lydia was left to find her way in the world.
