Description
Carol is a young girl with a small stature almost past her teen years (she hopes it isn't too late to hit her growth spurt, or did, now she's not entirely living per se), and similarly no sign of muscle growth on her thin body - though the fault here is likely to go to the spectacularly failed necromatic blunder from several years where she actually used to be fairly plump. She doesn't really like food anymore. Her skin also turned very pale as a result of that failure, and her large eyes have turned grey instead of the shining blue they used to be - though she'd get very upset if this was mentioned, since her mother always used to compliment the radiance of her skin and eyes before she died, so saying it means a lot to her would be a huge understatement. Apart from that, she likes to keep her appearance sharp and orderly, and is keen on formal attire - since it makes her seem more refined and not just 'another silly brat' to people who don't know about what she does. Otherwise, she uses makeup to pretend she's still living and breathing, despite this not being entirely the case.
Personality
Carol has strong determination, and can be curiously optimistic despite everything that's happened. She believes that she knows that somewhere, she could find the secret to resurrection, though she's given up on finding from the books in her house. She tries hard to be mature in the light of other adults, and is altruistic. She knows pain, so she believes that anything to help others from such pain is reward enough. She has interest in religion, though has become quite passive knowing that the gods frankly won't help her. She's still a fairly simple girl - her sole motivation being to see her mother again. She tries to go about it in as mature of a way possible, but that doesn't change the fact that she makes childish mistakes frequently. Still, she's rather manipulative and likeable in conversation. Though bubbly most of the time, she's been discriminated too much for her powers to fall into a fury or sulk when its talked about as if she was a monster. She had a honest motivation behind it, and is not willing to give up on perfecting them until she suceeds her original goal. She reminisiences about her mother every night since she doesn't sleep much, and this usually helps her act relatively free of angst in the day.

Seventeen years ago.. a girl named Carol was born in a house on the bordering the magnificient city of Cyre. The family had suffered misfortune and misfortune and her mother, being the best mother she could ever imagine, distanced herself far from the rest of the family. Good thing too, she was young when she find out that her mother couldn't reach any of her relatives anymore. That, and her father was a mysterious type. Even Carol's mother didn't know him well, apart from the fact that he was a soldier of Cyre in the war. She had a wonderful childhood, and loved her mother more than anything, especially when she would teach her some basic spells to play with! Whether by miracle or being just far enough.. the two were not killed in the cataclysm on the Day of Mourning. She heard it ring through her ears, but as she followed her mother out of their house everything was fine! It was still beautiful Cyre alright. After that, she was told not to leave the house, and complied. But later that year.. Carol's mother fell prey to a disease, and fell mortally ill within weeks, before finally dying with Carol pouring tears all over her (must've made for rather wet and unpleasant last moments). She was completely at a loss - and run out the door towards Cyre - trying to find her bad. Even from far away.. she would see the beautiful city she had been seeing for the past few months were a lie. A wonderful illusion created by her mother (a top class sorceror) made to keep her innocence and happiness. She saw the desolate Mournland, unlike anything her carefree life thus far at shown her. The girl couldn't take a single step further after seeing the fog of the Mournland, and instantly ran back into their house and bolted the door shut, on the verge of a breakdown. Both her parents were dead?! But then the solution suddenly popped into her head, like a lightbulb turning on, and suddenly her optimism put her at ease, bubbling with excitement. Her mother had 'grown-up books' in the cellar, which she had once sneaked a peek at, remembering it contained necromatic instructions. She would totally raise her mother from the dead, and everything will be okay.. Carol could forgot she ever saw the Mournland after her mom uses her illusions again.. .. and oh boy was a 13 year old girl tampering with necromancy a bad idea. After perusing her mother's magical texts in great detail, she attempted to raise her beloved mother from the dead. It failed. Horribly. The flesh fell off her mother's corpse it seemed like it was going to fall off hers. Howling in pain, it took the girl some time to realise that her own body began to become like that of the undead, the failure even causing her to grow a Cyst of internal flesh on her upper arm, presumably with her mother's blood. After crying for three days at the failed Necromancy, Carol realised that this would not achieve anything. Her determination will drive her on, and she decided she would find more answers wherever her quest to raise her mother would take her. Packing a set of formal clothes and dressing smartly, she braved the Mournland to find answers. She was saved by an adventuring group before she managed to be butchered by a renegade Warforged. She thanked the men, and had them deposit her in a nearby town so she could carry on finding out how to raise the dead.. the right way. This got her dumped quick enough. For the next four years, Carol continued travelling with the same goal, trying to help wherever she could to hopefully earn some respect despite her 'evil' craft. Needless to say, after getting beating too many times to count, and having been kidnapped once to be exorcised of demonic spirits, it doesn't seem to be working out, but she doesn't give up. The amount of times that she's been hatefully attacked has gone way down over the ears, as she more and more fills the shoes of a dreadful necromancer.. Unfortunately, undead and living tissue don't mix too well in a body.. especially one which is still growing. She definately knew the likely consequence of this, after passing out a few times and having her heart stop twice on her before being restarting with no explanation. She couldn't exactly remove the undead tissue.. so make the difficult decision to undergone the Ritual of Crucimigration in Karranth, instead, and now lives and as an undead.. .. she now has two 'dead' people to revive.
