Personality Traits
Though she is arrogant and haughty like most drow, Yaneth has worked hard to control the cruel streak she grew up cultivating. Having companions she can trust is always a novel experience for her, and she still sometimes has difficulty believing that she will not be stabbed in the back at any moment. She firmly believes in her goal of restoring Lolth, even if she has to burn down the Daemonweb Pits to do it. Though her connection to her goddess has been severed since receiving her newfound powers, she is still utterly devoted to Her. She sees Lolth's traditional followers as blind and duped, and while she pities them, she will hold no mercy for them should they get in her way.
Mannerisms and Appearance
Yaneth looks much like other drow, with dark, purplish skin and long white hair. She is rarely without her silvery, glimmering armor which has a spider emblem in the center, and her cloak has the symbol of Corellon dyed black and purple, and tends to wear an odd mishmash of symbols of Corellon and Lolth. Her staff appears unremarkable until she begins to fight with it, at which point it crackles with electricity and rumbles like thunder. She often acts rudely in social settings, bored by anything that doesn't directly involve her or her desires.

Background & Other Notes
Yaneth grew up like other drow in the Underdark, learning cunning and cruelty in equal measure, disdaining mercy and empathy. From a young age she was utterly devoted to Lolth, to the point where she betrayed her friends to the church when they expressed heretical beliefs, and they were sacrificed to Lolth for their crimes. For this great deed she was inducted into the priesthood. She regularly joined her fellow priestesses in terrifying purges of rebellious and heretical drow, secure in her devotion to Lolth. This all changed after a raid on a renegade sect, where she discovered an ancient tome describing Lolth before being cast down by Corellon and the other fey gods. She stole the book and hid it from her fellow priestesses, and learned about Lolth as a weaver of fates instead of plots, a goddess of destiny instead of treachery. After studying it she came to the conclusion that Lolth had been driven mad in the wake of the war between the primordials and celestial gods, that She had not always been so filled with cruelty and chaos. This realization shattered her beliefs utterly, and she resolved that she had to somehow find out if this was true, and if so, free Lolth from Her insanity. Knowing that the other priestesses would flay her alive should they discovered her doubts, Yaneth fled from the temple and the Underdark. After a harrowing journey through darkness, she emerged onto the surface only to face contempt and suspicion from the surface-dwellers, who refused to sell her food or offer her shelter. Eventually she made her way to the Feywild and found a great temple of Corellon. After showing the priests a copy of the ancient tome, they grudgingly allowed her to stay in the temple while they studied it for authenticity. They restricted her from seeing most of their library, but the books she could read only reinforced her opinion that Lolth had been driven mad by some outside malevolent force. Having that certainty, however, only made her despondent. She knew she did not have the kind of power necessary to save her goddess. One night, as she slept on the temple floor, she heard a ringing, like the sound of silver chimes rustling in the wind. She rose from the floor and wandered the temple halls, wondering what the noise was. Eventually, she came to the main room of the temple, where the grand altar sat at the front of the room. She walked towards the altar, and felt the ringing grow louder and louder with each step she took. When she finally stood before the altar, a bright flash filled the room, and she fell to her knees in surprise, momentarily blinded. When she could see again, she looked up and saw a figure standing before her with a longsword glowing brightly in its hands, and shimmering, insubstantial wings stretching out from its back. Corellon knows what you want. He remembers His adversary from before the Fall, and He knows She was not always the way She is now. He is willing to give you what you need to achieve your goal. But it will require sacrifice. Yaneth felt terror grip her heart at the figure's words, but after a moment of hesitation, nodded. The creature lifted its blade, then plunged it into the drow's chest. She cried out in agony, feeling the flames from the sword surge through her, burning her from the inside out. Finally, after she felt she could take no more, the figure pulled the sword back out, and she collapsed to the floor. When she awoke, it was morning, and the priests of the temple were outraged that she had approached the holy altar without supervision. The head of the temple threatened to call the authorities to imprison her, but as she rose his eyes filled with horror, for he recognized his god's touch upon her, and could sense the divine power that had been instilled in her. She just smiled grimly, then turned and walked out of the temple, intent on gaining enough power to restore her goddess to Her rightful place in the cosmos, even if she had to use her onetime enemy to do it.
