"Mmmrh."As the sun hit her pillow, the woman didn't even open her pale blue eyes before reaching one hand out for the staff leaning against the corner of her bed, right where she had left it. Using the polished wooden implement for support, she sat upright and pushed a few navy hairs back from her face. The scent of breakfast and the sounds of children outside brought the fact that today was special to the front of her memory. Cleaning and dressing for the day took exactly the same amount of time as always, seven minutes flat, and she headed downstairs to meet the final trial before moving forward to meet the destiny she knew was waiting in the world beyond. Apart from the blue-tint of her skin, Livah resembled a fully-grown woman, despite having come into existence only a few years prior -- at least, this incarnation was that fresh. She was well familiar with the history and legends of the deva, and she felt a constant push toward a calling she could not yet define, along with the faint "residue" of memories far gone and lives long past. The coloration on her skin was very fair, with one darker mottled patch on her midsection and another on her arm. The latter bore the distinct shape of a half-cog, the symbol or Erathis, the god of civilization, maker of law and order. Livah felt herself to be the enforcer of order, and even now, other children subconsciously straightened in their chairs and arranged the flatware on the breakfast table as she approached. It was enough to elicit a small smile on her lips, and the smile remains throughout the morning meal. Among the table of children and teenagers, she seems out of place, the disparity exacerbated by her lean figure that towered above most full-sized adults, and by the constant fidgeting of the smaller wards at the table. As always, Livah was completely motionless save the necessary actions, in this case those of bringing food to her mouth and chewing it. Even her eyes stared unwaveringly forward as though extremely interested in some speck on the far wall, or as though interested in nothing at all. The disinterest is a bit of relief to the other students, who have been talking among themselves of the somewhat tyrannical attitude their matronly wardmate has adopted in recent months. Sure, she may really buy into the idea that it's her divine purpose to enforce order in the world, but making a scene over an unmade bed was taking things a bit far. Douven had talked to her, of course, and she had quickly learned to channel her righteous indignation toward more productive ends. A training dummy in the yard, having survived years of abuse by students with anything from greatswords to glaives, somehow fell to splinters and ruin after one bout with Livah's staff. Anyone approaching her to interfere only seemed to ignite her fury, and those fellow wards that watched the spectacle from afar could not figure out how the dummy had taken such damage. However it happened, Livah was determined not to stop until it was done, and witnesses watched as she knelt before the fallen pile of straw and wood bits to say a prayer, as if she had felled an actual person. Inexplicable, perhaps, but it seemed to placate her, and that same night Livah reported to Stahl that she felt ready to take his final exam. It was interesting to imagine how she must have looked when master Stahl had first found her, all but materializing before his eyes where there had been no one or nothing just a moment prior. She had been fully capable of conversation and locomotion, and thankfully clad in a simple white robe, but she had no memory of existence or any sense of identity but a single name. He had taken her in as a student, and she had excelled at studies and at combat with single-mindedness bordering on urgency at times. She firmly believed in the protection afforded her until she should find her destiny, forgoing armor and warriors' weaponry for her staff and flowing white-and-purple robes, half-sleeves displaying proudly the brand of her deity. She was constantly aware of a purpose beyond her present state, which cause gave her both a reason to remain unflinchingly loyal to her exercises and a desire to graduate as Stahl's ward and move on in pursuit of her future. After today, she thought as she finished her breakfast and neatly stacked the dishes, she would finally earn that chance.
