Description
This lithe figure's bright white mohawk clashes unsettlingly with his dark, drab, featureless clothes. From a distance, he appears to be a dark skinned human. Closer inspection, however, reveals the silvery undertones and pointed ears of a half drow-elf. He has a peculiar calmness about him as his eyes unceasingly cover every inch of the room. He shows only dim awareness of any individual present, but never fails to notice when they are looking at him.
Personality
Ysh'set's cautious veneer bellies his cocky arrogance. On those few occasions when he can be convinced to speak freely, he reveals a very low opinion of nearly everyone else. He has an inexhaustable desire to do things his way. His quick wits tenaciously design routes over any obstacle. As he sees it, the first with a plan is the first to act. Surprisingly, Ysh'set is quite capable of giving his ideas a fair proposal; but he would simply prefer to begin a course of action, obliging others to follow (especially when they're not entirely certain of what he's doing). In particular, he has disciplined his senses. Ysh'set believes he has the most to gain from a situation if he knows the details before anyone else.

Ysh'set was born in the town of Riverview. His mother, Glinzer, was the petulant daughter of the well-to-do caravan merchant, Bevil Stanzer. Evidently, they had spent some time trading in Khur'dar. Bevil made efforts to provide for the illegitimate child; but soon grew frustrated. It seemed that Glinzer used his interest as an excuse to eschew any involvement of her own. Furthermore, a half elven child matures slowly and Ysh'set's drow heritage was bad for business. Many in Hatherah still considered the drow to be traitors. By the child's third year, Bevil decided to put some money down on a small estate in Mandafall, where his daughter and grandson were to remain while he travelled. Unfortunately, leaving behind Glinzer put him without an attractive young girl to help with the sales. He had to hire an assistant, and thus, could not afford a nanny to properly care for the child, as Glinzer surely would not. As Bevil had expected, Ysh'set received minimal care and guidance. He began leaving the house as soon as he could walk. By his nineteenth year, he was barely returning at all. Trouble on the streets of Mandafall is easy to find, and Ysh'set soon fell into ranks with the gangs of street urchins. It was then that he took on the name of Ysh'set Huiran; he didn't want to be reminded of his disgraceful mother, and remembered his grandfather recounting similar names for drow he had met. Though he relished the activities of infitration and pilfering, the stigma regarding his drow heritige was finally begining to catch his attention. Even as he honed well sought after skills, his share of the gains was always initiate level. He was always the scapegoat for others' failures, and the gang leaders lambasted at his strategies before claiming them as their own. One fateful day an aspiring gang leader got too ambitious and tried to pull a heist on a noble's manse. More than two thirds of the team was aprehended, including Ysh'set. They expected the standard punishments: beatings, labor, lock-down, and then orphanage. That wouldn't be the case for Ysh'set, however. For a new monastic temple had just been built by devotees of Heronious and St. Cuthbert. These monks had come to the city hoping to redeem troubled youth that showed great potential. Ysh'set would become their newest recruit. Monastery life was a mixed blessing. Ysh'set could hardly stand following orders, but loved the progress developed by strict discipline. He soon discovered that misbehavior actually excused him from mundane tasks such as housework and gardening, as the "punishments" were to continue to hone the mind and body. Eventually Ysh'set came to adulthood. His teachers then informed him that as part of his release from the criminal system, he could not lawfully leave the temple except in service to the king. Momentarily furious, he quickly understood the perfect opportunity to use his finely developed skills. He accepted this life of servitude and zealously pursued every mission he was given. Ysh'set is now considered a great asset to the crown, having returned fugitives, pre-empted assassination attempts, exposed treachery, and scattered crime syndicates. He gladly welcomes this new expedition into the demon lands.
