Huln Kulnath Aumnoir was born in the lands of Unther on the world of Faerun. Even as a boy he had shown a great gravitation towards scholarly pursuits. Fortunately for him, he was born well off and as a young man, attended University where he excelled in the areas of Religious Lore, The Arts Arcane, Archeology and Planar Theory. Not long after graduation, Huln was offered an instructing position at the University, where he thrived for several years filling the minds of willful students. The now Professor Aumnoir had spent a great deal of his personal time investigating archeological sites, mostly of a religious nature in a fevered pursuit of divine lore which became an obsession for him while attending the University. It was during an excavation in which he was a part of in which Huln invoked disaster. While deep within the bowels of a long forgotten tomb believed to be an ancient place of worship to the Deity, Bane, Huln had discovered a proverbial gold mine of divine text. He spent weeks pouring over tablets and scrolls deciphering ancient texts and filling his greedy mind. The discoveries he made were without a doubt extremely significant and he was showered with praise by his colleagues. But his meddling suffered another attentive eye. Not long after the excavation of the temple of Bane worshipers, Huln was bed ridden with a serious illness. The once healthy and somewhat heavyset man began to melt away to reveal the corpse like visage of a dying man beneath in mere weeks! He was 25 years old. After many years of varying treatments, Practical, Arcane, and Divine, Huln had only gained a moderate level of control over his illness. He was no longer bedridden, but suffered severe musculature degeneration in his right leg and was forced to use a cane for his everyday use. He still bore the visage of a man suffering from extreme illness, though slightly warmed over from what it had been. He had given up delving through archeological sites as his body was no longer agile enough to handle the strenuous exercise. He was growing desperate. Huln then set out with his moderate fortune to travel the world of Faerun in search of a cure to his ailment. 10 years later, his fortune depleted and half way across the world from his home, Huln received word from a contact about a man who may be able to help him. His name was Delthrin and he practiced the Dark Arts in a surprisingly practical and beneficial way. He lived in a manor in the city of Marsmber in Cormyr. Huln felt a ruch of hope and used the last of his money to arrange a coach to take him there. Upon Huln's arrival in the city though, he found his hopes lost. Master Delthrin had been murdered. His alleged murderers where set to see trial. He was too late. Not long after this news, Huln discovered that the city housed a temple to the clerics of Myrkul, a god of death. With little to no success was huln able to arrange an audience with the practicing priests as they seemed to want to help him very little. Shortly thereafter, their temple was burned to the ground by the city watch and a unit of Purple Dragon Knights. He was defeated. Currently, Huln is a broken man. His will is fading as rapidly as his health. He has no hope for a cure in sight, though he searches still, in vain, for he has yet to discover the true nature of his condition.
