Rex was born in 1912 to a reasonaby prosperous Texas oil prospector. Rex's father, Ryan, enjoyed flying in his spare time, and frequently took his son up with him, who throughly enjoyed the experience. As he grew older, he got flight lessons from his father. Shortly after the Great Crash, he fell for the daughter of a co-worker of his father's, who had a spark of mechanical genius and a dream to create an air mail line. They ran away together, in Rex's case to escape an arranged marriage to the daughter of a regular client of his dad's who was, shall we say, no prize. Through blood, sweat, and tears, they managed to make his fiancee's dream reality, and all was good for a couple years. Then came the fateful day when the fiancee realized that Rex's not-infrequent delays were caused, not by engine trouble as he claimed, but by his fraternization with the local gals. Crushed, she kicked Rex out with a check for his half of the company and instructions to "Fly anywhere far from Texas." Estranged from his father, and his ex-fiancee not speaking to him, Rex is currently at loose ends, taking jobs to keep himself fed and the Southern Belle flying while he figures out what to do with his life. Rex is a veritable bear of man, sqaure-jawed and standing 6'2" and 210 pounds, none of it fat, with unkmept black hair and hazel eyes. He is jovial, quick to crack a smile or laugh. Do not let his gentlemanly ways fool you-he like his whisky and his women.
