Description
Titus was brought up in a family of exceptional Equite craftsmen. The station that his family's success afforded them was ideal, for many reasons. They had enough money and influence to do what they wished, just so long as they didn't ruffle too many feathers along the way. The government contracts that his family earned, building ships of many shapes and sizes, gave them other opportunities. They were fairly well connected, and because their product was good, their ships became sought after commodities. Titus was trained in the craft, and while he was technically good at it, he lacked the passion for it that made someone truly great. Titus found his passion behind the controls of the craft his family built. He was afforded the opportunity to learn to pilot the smaller craft at a young age, and he truly excelled in his training. His parents, like many other Equites believed that ability was more important than birth-right, and Titus is well-versed in the benefits of a meritocratic system. During his citizenship service in the Navy, he was faced with many examples of the best man not getting the job because he didn't have the right name, or know the right people. Titus' own situation was equally disturbing to him. Loving to fly smaller, faster craft, Titus had wanted to fly fighters in the Navy, but as fate would have it he was assigned to Transports instead, even though his aptitude and talent was so high. Of course, his work ethic caused him to perform as well at it as if it had been his first choice. He became increasingly disillusioned with the status quo as he found inept Patricians placed in positions of authority while much more capable people of lower classes were passed over. He had done well in the service, and had even earned a few commendations, but at the end of his tour, he had had enough of the bureaucracy and the government. He began a life of adventure and excitement, flying whatever jobs he could get for decent pay. Many of these opportunities were outside of the law, and some were directly supporting the rebellion, but Titus didn't have much trouble, morally, with any of that.
Personality
Titus has a generally upbeat personality and has no problem joking around. He is usually boisterous, and has a habit of unintentionally pushing the joke too far, and is sometimes a bit cocky, but is generally likable enough. When the situation calls for it, he is capable of extreme concentration and has the ability to withstand pressure. His friends find him loyal and trustworthy, while his enemies find him tenacious and resourceful.
