Description
Corwyn is young, barely old enough to be considered an adult, which is at odds with his long, stark-white hair which is normally left loose, but sandwiched between his armour and cloak to stop it flying into his green eyes or providing an enemy a convenient hand-hold. His hooded, dark-green cloak reaches to his ankles and his armour and shield are unadorned. The only thing about him that shows he is a paladin is the wooden holy symbol of Iomedae hanging from his neck as an amulet. Even his expression and the way he walks don't seem like they belong to a paladin; his eyes are almost always droopy, as though he's about to fall asleep, and something about his walk seems equally lazy.
Personality
Despite his general impression of laziness, this is some distance from the truth. He follows the tenants of Iomedae faithfully but his general demeanour still gives a very un-paladin-like impression. His slighter frame also results in him looking too weak to be a paladin as well and he doesn't do anything to change that opinion. Some of the more hot-headed members of his order consider him a coward for trying to solve problems without violence, but when is forced to fight, it is easy to believe is really is a paladin. He has something of a sarcastic streak and is prone to making snarky comments about the situation, but knows when to keep his trap shut when it might make the situation worse.

Corwyn likes to consider himself a 'pious-realist'; he believes in the gods and is faithful to them, but still has a hard time believing any omniscient being would bother to directly address any living person unless the god in question was physically in the world at the time (such as someone who just completed the Test of the Starstone). Which is why he is confused about a possible vision he received in his sleep one night. On one hand; he remembers it far too clearly for it to be a dream and there was a lot more religious iconography than normal (unlike his normal dreams which are a strange and baffling amalgam of whatever fiction he's been reading lately), but on the other; he's sure that Iomedae would know that he doesn't put any stock in visions. Nevertheless, it bothered him enough to approach a priest with it. The priest believed it to be genuine and spoke to Corwyn's superiors in the paladin order who allowed the young half-elf to leave Mendev and follow his vision. Nerosyan, the capital of Mendev, had been Corwyn's home for all of his life. He never knew who his father was, his human mother raising him and his twin brother on her own. He had always been enthralled by the paladins he'd constantly see in the streets of the fortress-city and joined an order of Iomedae's paladins as soon as he was old enough (his brother went on to study magic). What free time he had wasn't spent training or praying, like most of his peers, but reading whatever books (mostly from the Pathfinder Chronicles) he could get his hands on. This lead to him being somewhat genre-savvy and has on more than one occasion tempted him to try and write a fictional story of his own, but he can never find the motivation to do so and whenever he does, gets hit with a bad case of writer's block. This bookworm nature - coupled with his total indifference to the physical competitions the order held for the trainees - made him something of a pariah among his more temperamental peers, his skill on the practice field being the only thing preventing outright hostility. Not that he cared much; he joined the order to help protect people, not to curry favour from a bunch of teenage, hot-headed windbags who do all of their thinking with their swords and have about as much common sense as the residents of an insane asylum. It was about a year after completing his training and being made a full-fledged paladin that he received the vision. It came to him in his sleep each night but was always different. The message it contained never changed though; "Danger comes to Sandpoint and you must stand against it." It took him a week just to learn what country Sandpoint was in before he considered approaching a priest about it. When the order gave him permission to leave, he managed to broker passage on a merchant ship leaving down the river. The trip turned out to be rather more roundabout than he'd expected, but eventually he made it to Sandpoint; albeit having lost his silver holy symbol on the way and having to buy a wooden one from some nomadic traders he'd come across.
