Description
Konrad looks a bit like the default character for the national side in Battlefield Heroes. He is slightly sickly and looks a bit gaunt/malnourished, even though he is in good shape otherwise. He keeps his black hair in a small pony-tail, as has been fashionable about a decade ago or so. His eyes are brown with a few green sprinkles and his face more often then not displays an ever so slightly sardonic smile, as if being quietly amused about some cosmic joke only he understands. As the 4th son of a landless noble, he has no chance to inherit any holdings, and slim chances to have the family title passed on to him, but at least he has that certain 'aristocratic' look about him. He usually tries to dress according to his social status as the son of a (very) minor noble, but also tries to avoid looking 'foppish'. He has some muscles from his fencing training, but he is much more agile. Since he lacks the strength or endurance to wield a heavy blade or wear a heavy armour, he has picked up the rapier and buckler (actually the fist-shield buckler, not that strap-to-your-arm contraption. Essentially a light shield really).
Personality
Konrad is a gentleman, or at least that is what he thinks about himself. At least he tries to live up to his own self-image. But his past has left him bitter and he looks at life as one big cruel joke. He does realize and recognize that others are off much worse then him, at least he has (still) enough money to feed and clothe him. But that doesn't exactly make his own position any better, now does it. Konrad is usually very non-confrontational (even though he seeks to hone his fencing skills) and would rather be called a coward then to start a fight. But if he is attacked he has no qualms to put his skill with the blade to good use.
Character Traits
Konrad's face more often then not displays an ever so slightly sardonic smile, as if being quietly amused about some cosmic joke only he understands. He is just bitter really. Being born a noble, he would nevertheless be relegated to the lowest rung of noble society for his lack of magical ability. Which doesn't exactly endear wizards or mages or any caster types at all to him. He doesn't mind clerics, those are after all servants of a god.
Character Flaws
Konrad clings to the status conferred by his noble birth a bit too much. While he does not disdain other people for their lack of blue blood per se, he feels like he is obligated to show a certain sense of arrogance, just as he is obligated to act as a gentleman. This includes being both chivalrous and courteous, which Konrad sometimes tries a bit too hard at. For example, women don't fight. So the idea of actually fighting a female opponent is so preposterous that he has actually difficulties to get himself to attack a female. He might eventually grow out of it, but don't hold your breath.
Contacts / Friends
After leaving Theryn, Konrad has no contacts or friends he is in touch with. He does write the occasional letter home but takes a moderate effort at being hard to track.

* Step Up (from Pathfinder): You can close the distance when a foe tries to move away. Prerequisite: Base attack bonus +1. Benefit: Whenever an adjacent foe attempts to take a 5-foot step away from you, you may also make a 5-foot step as an immediate action so long as you end up adjacent to the foe that triggered this ability. If you take this step, you cannot take a 5-foot step during your next turn. If you take an action to move during your next turn, subtract 5 feet from your total movement. ** 3/day either Mending or Prestidigitation to make oneself presentable, would be 960 gp according to DMG but let's round up and say it is fancy. Or round down because you can't use it to mend, say a door...

Born in Tarania, Konrad has been raised as a noble. since he is a smart boy he quickly realized a few facts about life that his parents and teachers didn't really want him to learn. At least not until he was 'grown up' enough to understand. But the realities are such: 1) He won't be inheriting anything of value from his family estate. 2) He is about as magic as a loaf of bread. He did study (or rather: was forced to study) magic for a year or so before his teachers gave up on him, so he knows a bit or two about spells, but he just can't wrap his mind around casting. 3) His sickly physique means he will not be accepted as a cadet or ensign at any military academy either, even if his mind works just as well (if not better) then that of many applicants. So its either rank-and-file or maybe (if his father should feel like pulling the nobility card) an adjutant without chance of promotion. 4) Being married off is an option he finds definitely unpalatable. 5) Being a noble also means he effectively blocked from ever learning any useful skill or trade. Because nobles are either wizards or warriors, period. And if you aren't either... So one day he decided to scrape together some personal savings, sell off some jewelry and set out to find his luck elsewhere. Since the only skills he had so far acquired were some basic fencing instructions, he looked for opportunities to build on what he had. If nothing else, he could still become the best fencer in the land. Or at least good enough to one day found his own fencing school maybe. And then he would be the one who decides whom to teach and whom to reject. Mostly that meant trying to find a fencing school that would admit him and train a bit before growing bored and moving on. But without any real skills to support him, he was going to run out of money eventually, even if he lead a comparatively frugal life.
