Did we mention that Patrin has a bit of a habit of being a bit all over the place when it comes to learning stuff? One would usually throw him into the 'chaotic' bin with that in mind, but Patrin really just wants to be such an universal scholar as his late mentor was. Also, his skills at brewing potions has saved the odd life in the past few years and Patrin feels that he can do so much more, if only he keeps learning and honing his skills. Patrin is pretty proud of his skills and eager to help when and where he can. As long as people recognize his contribution, he is happy enough. After all, what good are your skills if you can't put them to good use? Doesn't mean he doesn't charge for his services though. But he gives credit and he doesn't mind people paying in livestock. It's more a matter of recognition then anything really. Besides, this is a pretty tranquil village. What would he do with several pounds of gold anyway? You only need so much fossilized sunlight to make a Sunrod after all...
