Description
Jaared Morressani has a wirey athletic look about him. He stands 5'10" and weighs 150lbs. He has light blue eyes and dark blonde hair. He is extremely well dressed and often acts and carries himself as a profesional soldier (he has a strong military bearing). See above image as to what he looks like.
Personality
Jaared Morressani is a hard man, not by choice but of necessity. As a bastard son he grew up with no father figure to model himself after. Although doted on by his mother there was little discipline in his young adult life. When someone would chide him on his misbehavior he resented it. This started to develop into a resentment of authority in general. That all changed during his tenure at 'The War College of Kintargo'. The teachings there turned that built-up anger and resentment into a healthy respect of the 'authorities'. The program of instruction was often brutal but it showed him why the 'authorities' were in charge: because 'they' held the reigns of power, and he who holds the power controls everyone else! Instead of 'selling-out', Jaared took everything he had and 'bought-in'. Although Laws may be unjust, they must be followed to the letter. Jaared believes 'Order' is the rule of the day and where there is Chaos one must impose his Will upon the Chaos to bring about Order. In his mind 'The Ends Justify the Means'. He despises laziness and incompetence with a passion. Everything and everyone has a place in the world. He enjoys training and leading soldiers as well as watching them develop into effective fighting forces. This change is a mirrored reflection on how he changed his beliefs during his time at school. Now the above states his core belief but how he carries out the 'means' is flexible. Jaared understand no two soldiers (or two people for that matter) are exactly the same. What works to train/influence one probably will not work on the other. He has found it best to observe someone in their own environment first, then tailor a plan suited to their needs. Patience is a virtue! As an instructor and leader of men Jaared is very honest and forthcoming in his assessment of a situation. Some would call his personality 'forceful' but he merely thinks that he has a 'strong' character and feels he is an extrovert. Due in part to his job/career choice Jaared hasn't found time for a serious long-term relationship although in his heart of hearts he desires one. His grounded belief in 'structure' has clouded his vision on the chaos of Love. He doesn't understand the difference between Love and Obedience, he thinks they are one in the same. So what has been the result of this misconception? A series of failed relationships and broken promises. Jaared wishes he could change, like he did before, but he just doesn't know where to begin or how to do it. (OoC: This could be a long-term plot device that actually causes him to shift alignment towards Neutral Good as he eventually realizes that Laws cannot exist without the Chaos just as light cannot exist without darkness and as he comes to understand the true meaning of love he eventually understands the goodness that dwells in the hearts of men and women.)

Born an only child to a human, Jaared never knew his Elven father. It was good fortune that his mother, Alysa, had relatives in Kintargo as she moved there with Jaared soon after he was born. In his youth Jaared had the luxury of growing up in a cosmopolotain city. This exposed him to the many races and peoples of the Cheliax Empire and beyond. The port city brought many travelers and merchants to and fro. Without a strong father figure in his life Jaared was destined for for trouble. Thankfully, with the prodding and connections of Alysa brother (Jaared's uncle), Jaared gain entrance to the War College of Kintargo. This would change his life forevermore. There he learned discipline, the value of honor, and most importantly gave him purpose. The academic and physical regimine was brutal as the school had a sterling reputation to uphold. As part of the curriculum students were sent to distant outposts to 'learn the profession'. He spent nearly 4 years at a remote mountainous outpost to Kintargo's northeast. When his studies concluded he returned to Kintargo for his final testings. Jaared didn't graduate at the top, he did make it into the upper 10% of his class. With honor's he left the school and accepted a position as a 'Captain of the Guard' in Kintargo's city watch. He work as a loyal Captain for the next 6 years, finally leaving the city's employment at the age of 28. During his tenure in 'The Watch' he trained hundreds of recruits for the city. His high standards and rigorous training regimine led to reduced corruption in the city's guards and a slightly lowered crime-rate within the city's boundries. He earned the respect from his fellow co-workers as being hard but fair. Those that were found guilty were subject to corporal punishment. Late in his career as a 'Watchman' he once rescued a Noble's son from ransom (Crail Lamond's son). Cleaver fact-finding and the quick recognition of the perpetrators led Jaared and a small squad to a warf warehouse. The rescue attempt was a success and for his efforts he gained the noble's favor. It was the Lamond's that elevated Jaared's fashion sense and style. In his 28th summer Jaared began marketing what skills he had as a professional military trainer. His developed style and a fasion sense assissted his endeavors by him knowing that one was evaluated on their apperance as well as performance. Jaared worked successfully inland for several minor noblemen training their house militias. Upon completion of his terms he asked for and received several more letters of recommendation from those lords who he befriended. At 30 years old he decided that he would attempt to ply his trade in southern lands and returned to Kintargo to book passage on a vessel headed in that direction. He stayed aboard the ship, waiting for the right 'feel' of a port and because of this 'feeling' had passed-up several ports-of-call along the way. He eventually made it to the mouth of the Sellma River as it emptied into the Inner Sea. Not content with his surroundings he followed the river north and eastward until he crossed the border into Brevoy. It was here he finally felt that the time was right to put 'roots' down. He has been working as a Sellsword thoughout the kingdom for the last 2 years.
