Description
Black hair, pronounced chin, small nose, dark brown eyes. Work as for his family of goat-herders has given him a lean muscular physique. His distinct orcish characteristic is a subtle grey undertone to his otherwise normal human skin, which usually makes him the last one to draw the eye in crowd. He wears simple peasant's clothes of off-whites and dull browns.
Personality
Quiet, calm, and sincere. Dega spent a great deal of time in relative isolation. Since his family determined he was fit enough to work at age eight, he has spent most of his waking days watching over large flocks, only close enough to other shepherds to keep them in eye-shot. These long hours of monitored isolation gave him fantasies of being alone, of not being watched, and that desire exists in him today. His social anxiety only heightened when he developed his arcanic abilities two years ago. Dega is man who means well, but has never known the warmth of friendship or comfort of love.
Character Traits
Hailing from Arghras, Dega comes from the Ruhn family, a particularly stern, stoic family of goat herders. There's is a life of constant, migratory travel, avoiding roads and guiding/following the goats almost listlessly throught Arghras. They were never moving fast enough for things to always seem new and exciting, but they never stayed long enough to form lasting connections with others or plant any roots. Dega was the third youngest of thirteen children. When he started developing his arcane abilities he was terrified of his families reaction and kept it hidden. After two years of only playing with magic when he was far enough away that only the goats could see, Dega couldn't take the pressure any longer. He waited for a storm to come, and when it finally did, after weeks of waiting, he carried out his well thought out plan. On a cold, windy Tuesday morning, the overcast began to turn darker and darker. His family would only regroup if lightning touched ground, which makes some goats panic, and it happened so rarely, that nearly every time they lose a few goats. Dega waited for that moment, and when the lightning hit the ground, he began running away. The rain came down hard, and though it made his mad dash all the more perilous and horryfiying, he knew that the worse the weather was, the harder it would be to find his trail. And if they didn't find his trail, they would assume him dead. After his escape he headed West, then north and south and everywhere but back west, surviving as benign highwaymen, and occasional cat burglar. Never leaving anyone penniless, but taking from those with plenty and allowing himself to survive. He isn't sure if he was drawn to the Red Tail league by fate, chance, or a benevolent guiding hand, but it once there, and able to share his secret, he's felt a strange new feeling. The feeling of home.
