He also happens to be a powerful sorcerer capable of commanding the raw elements of magic. He's probably one of the smartest people in the room, especially when it comes to mathematics and physics. When you add the two together you get a very capable spellcaster who can manipulate magic with all the precision and power of a scientist.[/ooc] [B][SIZE=3]Trouble[/SIZE][/B] [ooc=My Own Instructor]David has been without an instructor in the magical arts since they've manifested. While this has given him a unique outlook and the ability to meld science and magic, it also means that he's woefully clueless to many things most wizards takes for granted. Every spell he's learned has been through trial and error and a whole lot of self-directed book learning. While he's quite a capable evoker, he has a multitude of blind spots when it comes to magic.[/ooc] [B][SIZE=3]Other Aspects[/SIZE][/B] [ooc=Child Prodigy]David's parents knew he was special from the age of 3 when he was already reading books aimed at 5-6 year olds. He proved to be extremely gifted at both mathematics and languages and was able to speak fluently in English and Spanish by the age of 8. In middle school his academic aptitude was high enough to warrant him skipping a grade. Now during his senior year of high school he is looking to get a college scholarship either to Berkeley, San Diego or Stanford.[/ooc] [ooc=Faith In My Friends]David doesn't have many friends, but the ones he does have he trusts with his life. He's been back to back with all of them and when push comes to shove he won't give up on them: ever. David is a true and loyal friend who works best when he's in a group.[/ooc] [ooc=I've Stared Down Evil]David has seen far more darkness and evil than any young man should have to face. Every time he's stared evil in the face without blinking or running away. He won't hesitate to face down evil again, even if it puts him in personal danger. And woe betide the minion of evil who actually threatens one of his firends.[/ooc] [ooc=Damn Gremlins]As David grows in magical power he's finding that more and more electronic devices are failing in his presence. His magical power is now on par with most wizard's and David must come to grips with the fact that he'll never really be able to use most of the delicate and expensive scientific equipment. He's either going to have to go into a theoretical field or find some way around his hexing if he ever wants to work with the cool toys. It should also be mentioned that his cell phones now have life spans measured in days or hours.[/ooc] [ooc=Newton Meets Merlin]David is a man stuck between two worlds: science and magic. On the upside this has given his magic a very creative and useful twist. His understanding of the basic principles of the universe has resulted in very creative spell use. On the downside, he now has to find a way to reconcile the existence of magic with science.
