Description
To keep a low profile, Alex usually wears a dark blue cloak with the hood up. This is a somewhat poor attempt at disguising his age of fifteen, since he is of small stature, only standing 5' 2" tall. His clothing underneath is black and a bit shoddy in make, though it still holds together fairly well. He carries a wooden staff that serves as a walking stick and, if a desperate need arises, a make-shift weapon. His blonde hair is cropped short, and his eyes are a soft brown.
Personality
In most situations, Alex's first priority is to help people in need. It is the main reason he decided to train as a Cleric. He does not like the idea of hurting people, but acknowledges that if fighting with enemies, less people will be in danger if he helps attack. He tends to be soft-spoken and kind, and gets embarrassed easily by teasing or compliments. Criticism disheartens him, but makes him try all the harder to do his best. Very rarely, when he is passionate about a stance, he will argue it fiercely.

Mage’s Disjunction: Dispels magic, disenchants magic items. ------ The Maximos family was one of importance in the large, distant city of Saphiros. It is located on the coastline and a valuable location for trading by sea. Classes are split into upper, middle, and lower, with the upper being called nobles. Alex was born into one of those higher families, along with his twin sister, Katherine (better known as Kathy). Until age ten, Alex grew up in seclusion with his sister, raised by his mother, father, and a tutor they hired to teach their children at their home. Kathy was raised as a Wizard, Alex as a Cleric, since the family had strong magic ties. Their parents were insistent that they learn different magic types, and Alex volunteered to be a Cleric so he could help others. Due to his status, when he started exploring the town at ten years old, Alex had a difficult time making friends. Most children his age were influenced by their parents to think that all nobles were snobs without morals. This often led to him being ignored by others, or insulted. He never spoke of this to his parents though. A few months later, Alex saw a noble firing a commoner he had hired for a job. Even though the teenage boy had performed well with what appeared to be a building project, the noble had no interest in paying someone of 'such low status'. Alex spoke to the teenager, named Seth, who was short and unpleasant to him. In spite of this, Alex was worried for Seth, as he seemed greatly concerned about his financial situation. Alex managed to meet up with Seth a few more times. Through much persistence, he learned that Seth's mother was greatly ill, and that he needed gold to pay a skilled healer to help her. Since only nobles were hiring for enough pay to cover that amount in time, he was having difficulty in that regard. At hearing this, Alex offered him the money he needed. Seth, who was still not seeing Alex in a good light, snapped that he did not need the help. Alex, for the first time in his life, spoke harshly and said that if Seth's pride resulted in his mother dying, how would he think of himself? Stunned at the outburst, Seth silently accepted the gold and left. Alex thought there was no chance of them meeting up again. However, about a week later, he was cornered by two men, who said they needed the "keys of the vault". They tried to abduct him, only for Seth to attack them from the back with his sword. Severely wounded, the two men fled, leaving Alex to thank Seth for his help. Seth explained he had been coming to thank Alex for helping his mother, who was still weak but not at risk of death at the moment. Alex offered for Seth to become a bodyguard for him. That way, Seth would have a well-paying job to help his mother, and he could protect Alex from any future attacks. Seth agreed to the job. For the next five years, they became close friends, as did Kathy with Seth. That changed when a powerful mage came with assassins one night. Alex's parents were killed, and Seth defended Alex from a possession spell by taking the hit himself. The mage used his control over Seth to make him grab Kathy. Alex only barely managed to escape, with there being no way he could have done anything to help his friend and sister. Though Alex does not know who those people were or what they wanted with Kathy and himself, he knows two things. One, he has to get stronger to protect himself. Two, he is the only one who can save Kathy and Seth. With no way of finding them at the moment, Alex began to train himself fiercely in the ways of magic, with a desperation to help them before it is too late. To try and keep his identity hidden, he shortened his name to Alex (something only his family and Seth called him), cut his lengthy hair short, and wore concealing clothing that was a far cry from what he once had. - The Maximos family were originally made nobles since they act as the keys to a vault of a powerful spellbook, one that is kept in the underground of Saphiros. The spell that keeps the vault sealed can only be opened by having each person willingly place their hand on the door. Alex and Kathy are the ones who can do this, but they were never told that they had this role. The mage who took Kathy would keep her alive and continue searching for Alex. Seth is not needed for the vault, but the mage would see no reason to pass up a free slave. Instead of relying on a possession spell past that first night, he would erase several of Seth's memories with spells and replace them with false ones to make him see himself as a willing servant. I deliberately tried to leave the mage undeveloped in case he could be used as a villain later, or whatever the case may be, but I can develop him if wished.
