Years of service to the Imperial Marines long behind him, Retired Major Mykl N'Rune (Imperial Special Forces) had held out the hope of spending his declining years in peace and seclusion. Born as part of an unsanctioned eugenics program carried out by the Imperial Special Ministry, his youth and indeed entire adult life was spent in Imperial Military service. After being transferred to a desk (after a botched mission that resulted in the loss of 3 of his squad (and his own leg)), Mykl developed a knack for the ins and outs of government bureaucracy. t was from this perspective that he watched in growing concern as his beloved republic began to unravel. If asked, Mykl would say that it all started with the damn clones (a prejudice perhaps born in part because of his own background). Recent events have led him to conclude that far from a symptom of civil unrest, the appearance of armed resistance against the Empire might very well represent the only hope for a restoration of the once great republic. To that end, he procured what ordinance he could, and made his way to the Tierfon system, following up on information regarding the activities of a rebel "Alliance"...
