Description
Sidhe is an elegantly thin woman by our standards, but crassly underweight by the standards of the men and women of Gelid Falls. Platinum blonde hair cascades down her pale slight shoulders and against her diaphanous white dress. She dresses as the wealthy of Gelid, but there's no clear evidence that she is as wealthy as they. For warmth, she wears a thick white cloak with a neck of ermine fur, unless the weather is harsher than simply a chill in the air. Around her neck rests an ivory lattice with jade accents, and on her finger rests what appears to be an overly-large quartz ring. Boadicea, Sidhe's riding horse, is pure white with a lush white mane, and appears well-fed and cared for. Its saddle and saddlebags are light-colored leather, if not pure white as well, blending in neatly where the silver or steel buckling is visible. At some points in the creature's mane, ties of silken white-gold thread are tied around elegant braids of carefully-brushed hair.

Sidhe's mother came from the Red Dew forest, like many of the fey, and as the rest of the rusalkans, beguiled lovers to her bed to sate her loneliness. One man, a blonde Imperial whose name her mother soon forgot, impregnated her and resulted in her bearing a child. She had long since let the man go when Sidhe was born, and cared for her after a fashion. Needless to say, a woman who seduces men to the bottom of a lake for a hint of compassion is not the best moral compass for a young child, and her mother would almost surely have abandoned her outright to a neighboring village to deal with if it weren't for Sidhe's almost fey-like appearance. Sidhe's early years were spent mostly underwater with her mother, under enchantment to prevent her from drowning. Her meager diet of fish and vegetation, coupled with the reduced gravity of the below water world made a significant impact on her weight and development, namely her uniquely lithe dancer's body as opposed to the typical hardy weight that surface-dwellers may acquire. When the young woman reached the age of 13, she bore an increasing desire to explore the surface, which her mother was only happy to release her to. A neighboring community, having not been new to the issue of fey children, or Wild Children as she became aware they were called, took her in and gave her at least some rudimentary knowledge, which she quickly developed a complex awareness of interactions and understanding of community structure. Her social development was... startling to those whose care she was under, and to her own mother, who she still socialized with. Only a few years later, Sidhe had caught up fully with her emotional and social development, and had chosen her own name (the underwater care of her mother had little need for names). Her interest in human culture increased, and she found herself naturally disposed to the manipulation of people to her own benefit. After some hard brushes with peoples' dislike of this ability, she started to focus on balancing her ability to manipulate with a somewhat flexible moral standard, influenced by the reaction of people to her behavior. In the midst of this emotional growth, Sidhe's mother became involved with a vodyanoi for more of a long-term solution to her lonely life. As a condition of this union, the vodyanoi insisted that her mother cease all communication with her wayward daughter, seeing no value in communing with the 'lesser races' of the land. Her mother made the decision to accept this request, which enraged her daughter so much that she threatened to leave, only to determine that her mother simply did not care. The ragged creature of the depths that intended to replace her threatened her on the night of her departure, leaving her to fearfully retreat from the village that had become her home and shelter. The young girl spent the next years traveling, and adventuring (after a fashion). Part of her desired to make a change in the world, while the rest was simply intrigued by how it worked, and how those in the world functioned. While the social interactions of those she met held her interest and offered her a means of survival, the dreams in their head were even more varied and intriguing. Her experience in dealing with comfort and understanding was... more flexible in dreams. Not knowing they dreamed, people were more accepting, and more open to her influence. She struggled to keep her powers a secret, in hopes that her freedom would not be somehow revoked. Her adventures led her to Gelid Falls, a city of beauty and wonder and the supposed seat of Imperial power. She settled here, for a time, in hopes that she could make this her new home. Her mind sometimes wandered to finding her father, but with no memories of him, she only had the memories of her mother to search by, which were obviously not focused on her father's history or origins. The falling star, however, arrested her interest. She followed the rumors, intent on finding out more about this thing which seemed to so directly affect the lives of those around her, even if they did not realize it. News of the madness that threatened the world around the fallen thing made her even more fascinated, and she could no longer avoid seeking it out. She was not sure how she could be of help, but she felt that this thing was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity or the end of the world, and she would miss neither.
