Personality
Reticent, serious, and hard-working. He rarely allows himself a smile or a joke, though is always cordial to others. Yet there is part of him that remains emotionally distant, a certain hesitance to socialize much, or to allow himself to enjoy things. He has an on-again-off-again relationship with a freighter pilot who makes regular trade runs to Botajef. It’s a more physical relationship than anything, one of convenience. His relationship with his father is complex and troubled; his relationship with his mother is shallow and polite. The person he was closest to, his younger brother Donovan, went off to join the Republic so he could fight in the war, and Luka hasn’t heard from him since the reports came over the holonet that the war was over. He keeps his worry for Donovan out of his conscious thoughts, but it weighs on him.
Description:
A light skinned and sandy haired human male, Luka has a compact frame and a squarish face. His eyes are the same piercing blue as his father’s, cautious and shrewd, his jaw set in a pugnacious line, his nose snubbed. His hair is thick and can be unruly at times, spiking into odd angles after he runs an absent hand through it.

A subrepeating blaster is an autofire- only weapon and includes a retractable stock. Unless the stock is extended, you cannot brace before making an autofire attack (see "Autofire," page 156 of the Saga Edition core rulebook) . A subrepeating blaster requires a power pack to operate. After 50 shots, the power pack must be replaced. Damage: 3d6 Rate of Fire: A Weight: 2 kg Type: Energy Availability: Military Improved Suppression Fire: When you successfully suppress an enemy using the the Aid Another action (pg. 151, Core), that enemy takes a -5 to its attack rolls until the start of your next turn. When targeting an area with an autofire weapon, each enemy in the attack area takes a -2 on its attack rolls until the start of your next turn, regardless of whether the attack hits. Personalized Modifications: As a standard action, you may tweak the settings of a powered weapon you wield. For the remainder of the encounter, gain a +1 equipment bonus on attack rolls and a +2 equipment bonus on damage rolls with that weapon. You can only use this talent on powered weapons (those take take a power cell to use), including weapons connected to a larger power source (including vehicle and starship weapons).

Luka is more his mother’s son than his father’s. Marko himself will be the first to say this. Marko is larger than life itself, a gundark of a man, rangy and broad-shouldered. His voice is deep and resonant, his features handsome and patrician with a hawkish nose and a mouth that crooks up at the edges. There is a bit of devilry to him, scoundrel’s luck and entrepreneur’s drive flashing in his piercing blue eyes. Luka, in contrast, is much slighter in build, his frame neatly compact and efficient. His face is young and serious, his jaw squared, though his chin is cleft like his father’s, and his mouth is just as expressive. He has his mother’s snubbed nose and her even-keel front, always leading with an air of calm, and eminent practicality. Luka has always been the good son, the one who studied, the one who worked hard, the one who stayed on the station when he mother walked out, the one who listened to his father and didn’t run off to join the war. He was the child who didn’t talk back, the older brother who was always there for his family, the dreamer who never followed his dreams. Though he knows the family trade as well as any, navigating his way around the panels and circuits of a ship’s systems the way some beings astrogate star systems, he’s much more of an administrator than a mechanic these days, dealing with the details his father has lost patience to handle. There is a slurry of minutiae that comes with running a station the size of Destiny’s Rest, and he feels a terrible responsibility for all of it. He spends long days and some nights in the station’s control center, handling the administrative work. Their family is, after all, in the business of fixing things, and what he fixes is the family business. Luka doesn’t allow himself much of anything at all, a man who has committed to his course and embraced his destiny before he was thirty, all without much fuss and with a simple sigh of resignation. There is part of him that wants other things, though he knows it’s not in the pazaak deck for him: this is his life, one of service to his family and obedience to his father. Yet it is that very obedience that makes his father look at him with that mostly-concealed air of faint parental contempt. Marko has never followed the rules, and admires freethinkers and rogues. Yet somehow Marko has managed to stamp out of his son the very attributes he himself embraces, and now has found himself with a drone of a son, a yes-man and data pusher. Still, Luka has his uses, so Marko doesn’t let himself think too much about it, and decides to be grateful for what he has. But there are flaws in the programming, bugs in the code. Luka is not quite as dull as his father would believe. In the past few years, he has developed a minor gambling habit. As it stands, he usually bets modestly and breaks even, but the temptation is always there, like sitting on the edge of an event horizon, and wondering if he should venture forward.
