Description
An impressively handsome and well-groomed man, Victor definitely looks the part of the nobleman. He has long black hair, a neatly-trimmed beard, and red-brown eyes. His gaze turns heads as there is something decidedly unnatural about it, but his pleasing demeanor usually makes people pay less attention to such things. One thing Victor doesn't seem to bother too much with is fancy clothing. Assassins, as a general rule, tend not to stand out, so he wears practical garb in case he is called upon to help end someone's life. The excuse he gives for his rather mundane wear is that his dear sister's safety, health, and comfort eat up a very large amount of money, something which is not a lie. It tends to alleviate suspicion, and if it doesn't his rapier wit (or sometimes just his rapier) will put those who press in their place.
Personality
Victor is level-headed, silver-tongued, and incredibly conniving. Everything he does is for the sole purpose of ridding his family of the 'deal' that curses them, and he is willing to become an even greater devil himself to do it. While he prefers not to, he allows himself no qualms about killing or using others, in case he must do drastic things to save his loved ones from the devil's curse. As far as his dealings with the assassin guilds go, he is a somewhat unique freelancer. Rather than avoid the guilds, he works with whoever needs his special brand of diabolic power in order to take down their targets. The guilds know this, and rarely send him on errands alone, lest he learn more than they want him to. Besides that, he is much more of an enabler than a murderer, and so an extra set of hands just makes the jobs easier. Possessing various dark powers has caused Victor and his family to suffer from night terrors. It is rare that he is capable of sleeping without being assaulted by horrible nightmares of what waits for him after death. When asked about his obvious fatigue, he tends to wave it off or give some kind of witty retort towards those who bother him at the moment. If others could see what he does when he sleeps, they would likely be driven insane.

Character Flaws
Reincarnated Misfortune 5% chance per encounter to be reminded of bad things. If active, no actions for 1 rounds, and then -2 to attacks and skills for the rest of the encounter. Insomniac Fortitude save (DC 15) needed to get to sleep. If awakened, another save is needed to return to sleep. If failed, fatigued for the day. Can prepare spells regardless. Modifiers to save: +2 if fatigued, +6 if exhausted, +4 for comfortable conditions, -4 for poor conditions.

Many generations ago, a foolish man made a deal with a powerful devil. The man, named Rozendal, wished for power, wealth, and prestige. The devil agreed, granting the man dark powers to take what he wanted. The powers came with many caveats, however, and it was not until Rozendal had achieved the success he desired that the family began to learn them. Those who shared his blood began seeing terrible nightmares. Daughters were born sterile and sickly. They were vulnerable to possession. Regardless of repentance, their souls were bound for Hell. Those who could see into the hearts of others saw only an endless black in the Rozendal family, one and all. The devil had left clues about ending the contract that bound them. Unfortunately, it wasn't going to be easy: in order for the curse to be lifted, a child must be born into the family, live a virtuous and sin-free life, and die knowing of the power they surrendered and with no regrets. It took many generations, but eventually an ideal candidate appeared: Marina Rozendal. She took the task of freeing them on her own frail shoulders. Her family knew that she would not live peacefully, and so her older brother Victor took the opposite approach. In order to protect his family until the curse was broken, he would embrace the dark powers granted to him, to become the kind of monster that their malefactor could not ignore. Marina would surrender her body, and Victor would surrender his soul. News of his growing powers spread, and numerous organizations vied for his assistance. However, he could not bring himself to take sides, lest others become vengeful and strike at his family. He began taking odd jobs from whoever would approach him, gaining funds to comfort his dear sister and associates he could call on in case of emergency. He continues to walk a very fine and dangerous line, using his curse to break it, and killing so that he may save others. However, it may not be a very long time before his corruption overtakes him...
