Originally born in Scarsdale, Travis at an early age showed aptitude in the bluntness and direct combat styles. Favoring larger weapons over smaller weapons (likely due to his large build and stature), Travis was able to overwhelm people through Sheerforce. Scarsdale had been a occupied Dale for some time when a Zhent soldier came upon Travis ‘fighting’ with some friends and he was taken by the Zhent forces and sent on a ship to the home of the Black Hand, Zhentil Keep. Such was often the actions in Scarsdale as the Zhent troops used the hearty local stock to bolster their own forces. The caravan of able bodied folk never made it to the Keep. Within sight of the walls of Hillsfar , the Red Plumes beset the Zhent Guards. The battle was mostly one sided and with a few casualties amongst the new inductees, Travis and several others were given a new choice. Die with the Zhents or side with Hillsfar. Travis had no choice but to accept. Travis has seen a lot in his time at Hillsfar. More than that, he has done a lot of things he has not been proud of. Beatings and bribery were common amongst the Plumes and it got to a point where it was too easy to live riding the downtrodden. Then the chance to escape came. Travis’s unit was sent to investigate a local farm which had been beset by ‘demons’. Coming across a drow hunting party, the battle was fierce and through sheer force of will, Travis was the last to fall. Thinking him dead, the drow in turn fled, yet Travis was still alive. Not wanting to return to his old life, Travis managed to stagger along the road until he passed out. After many days of recuperation and with dwindling food supplies Travis managed to make it to Ashbenford. What lay in store for him awaited…
