Description:
Of average height for a human female, Kaliara is a well built young woman - lean and healthy She dresses in attire often fashionable among Spacers and pilots. Because she flies freighters, she doesn't often wear to a flight suit, but when she does, she is perfectly at home within it's constraints. She does wear a blaster at her side, and prefers the color green. Within a jacket she wears constantly, is a hidden pocket where she keeps the lightsaber her father gave her so long ago. Blond hair falls in light curls well past her shoulders. It doesn't seem to get in her way, so Kali rarely wears it up, but when she does, it is usually pulled back in a loose bun. Her face is long and oval, her nose prominent, but not overly dominant in her features. Her eyes are a dark blue. Kali has been known to wear the occasional bit of lip cosmetic to enhance their color.

Kaliara's story begins ages before she was born, when the Jedi Order abandoned the 'Old Ways' and the Council began solidifying it's power and influence over the myriad of Force Traditions. Some never joined, some joined and then left, and others just left the Council chaffing at the over-strict rules. One of those who left, and took others with him, was Djinn Altis. And he was not alone. An entire community grew on board the Chu'unthor, the wandering praxeum ship of the Altisian Jedi were more than just Force sensitives, but non-force users that were drawn to the way of life of the Altisian's. A young man grew up on the Chu'unthor, his name Darrin Janu, his father one of the Padawans that left with Altis to return to the old ways. He was able to travel the galaxy and 'help' people, rather than be bridled by over-regulated behavior and bureaucracy. He loved this life. Travelling to Bespin with his Master, Darrin ran into another traveller to the gas mining city - a young woman of Hapes who was learning the ropes of her family's merchant trade - Kenna Mi. The two managed to run into one another behind the white facades of the floating city and run into some rather unhappy black market trading in Spice. Inadvertantly breaking up a rather large deal, the two ran for their lives, sticking together to eventually return with enough evidence, to the city authorities and their respective 'families', to break up the ring. That wasn't the only time. A year later, Darrin and his master were in Hapes, and Darrin 'happened' to run into Kenna. The two fell in love. Leaving her life on Hapes, Kenna took a ship from her family a simple freighter, which was more like a yacht, as her inheritance. Together, with Darrin, she started a family - though with the difficulty of her first pregnancy, it was decided that it would be her only child. This was Kaliara. The family often travelled together on her mother's ship, 'The Starwind' - throughout the galaxy they would go running errands for the Rogue Jedi, recruiting those who were unsatisfied with the Jedi way of life. Even in the early beginnings of the war, it was a simple and idealistic life. As the Clone Wars raged on, however, even the Altisian Jedi were pulled into the fray. By this time Darrin had taken Kaliara as an apprentice, and Kenna had long since been teaching the young woman how to fly a starship. Darrin and Kenna were asked more and more to run scouting missions together, and often left Kaliara on Chu'unthor, because the missions were too dangerous. This continued to nearly the end of the conflict, when Kaliara was deemed needing the experience. There were a few of these information gathering runs which Kaliara seemed to excel at, enjoying being with her parents. However, that all ended when the trio recorded a distress call on a jedi frequency. They arrived in time to see the Jedi master gunned down by clones. It was harrowing, but the group managed to return to the Chu'unthor with the traumatized Jedi Padawan in tow. Darrin and Kenna spoke with Master Altis repeatedly over the next few days as reports of the aftermath of Order 66 kept coming in. Eventually the Janu's decided, with Altis' approval, to begin searching for Jedi who escaped the extermination order, and trying to funnel them to the Chu'unthor or other safehouses, underneath the new Empire's eyes. It was on one of these runs that disaster struck. They were ambushed, and Kaliara, alone, managed to flee with her life. Her father was killed in the initial ambush, and her mother pushed her ahead so that Kaliara could escape, leaving the girl to make the decision no one should - to leave a loved one behind. Not knowing if her mother was dead or alive, and unable to sense the woman in the Force, for that was never Kali's strong point, Kali swore to continue her parent's work and gain a measure of vengence for her parents, even as the Chu'unthor moved deeper and deeper into the Outer Rim to hide from the empire. Only a couple of weeks after the death of her parents, and just under a month since the end of the wars, Kaliara was sent by Altis to Gentes. Some Antarian rangers had recieved a signal from a scouting party there they thought lost, and passed the information onto the Altisians. It was Kaliara's job to slip her ship in, and find any remaining survivors of the mission, and bring them back to Chu'unthor. It was here that Kaliara met a young man - oh it wasn't love at first adventure like with her parents, but he was good and useful. And he had this annoying habit of shooting everything she was trying to charge, before she could. Whether of his own choice, or tasked by others, Thandrim just seemed to always be around - waiting for Kaliara's next assignment to go with her. A few minor runs were done in this manner, Thandrim waiting at the ship when Kaliara was leaving. Begrudgingly she let him come along, and again he proved himself more than useful ... and one that wouldn't judge. Perhaps his best feature, really, since Kaliara knew she was having trouble letting go of her anger. Thandrim didn't really say anything about it, just kept ending trouble before Kaliara could get into it. The whole thing seemed to evolve into a habit. Finally Kaliara offered Thandrim her old room, and moved into her parent's sleeping quarters. After all, if she was going to have a babysitter, it should be one of her choosing. And ... he wasn't ALL bad or annoying. Except when he kept shooting things before she could attack them. But that was a forgivable offense when reason returned.
