Personality
In spite of everything Dodgeson always puts on a brave face, he has to after all if he ever hopes to make a sale. His cheeriness can often seem forced, which it normally is, however and he has a knack for somehow rubbing people the wrong way no matter what he does. In spite of this, years skirting the fringes of the galaxy give a man a wealth of experience of knowledge, making Dodgeson quite sage when he wants to be.
Description:
Haggard and greying Dodgeson looks every part the man past his prime. The years of fast living and near death experiences are beginning to show, from the lines on his face to that famous quick draw not being quite as fast as it used to be. Dodgeson stil likes to dress old-school, with the wide-brimmed hat and longcoat popularised by the smugglers of days gone by, when the Republic was still the undisputed and gloriously corrupt centre of the galaxy. Ah, the good old days.

Regianld 'Dodgy Reg' Dodgeson was born and raised as middle class as it is possible to be. Hailing from that odd bit of Coruscant just below the Upper City but still far away from gangland and the slums Dodgeson lived comfortably whilst still remaining well grounded in the realities of the galaxy. He had a good education and a unperturbed and happy home life. It may then surprise those that don't know the sorry tale of what Dodgeson did with the wealth of opportunity handed to him. Rather than settle down and do something safe and sensible with himself Dodgeson practically bankrupted himself buying a rickety second hand freighter, forgetting that to go into the starship captain business one really needs goods to sell. This monumental cock-up did not deter our specimen however, in fact it just forced him to think outside the box. Dodgeson simply offered to sell his services running goods about the galaxy rather than buying and trading goods himself. Of course he quickly discover the credits came a lot faster if the cargo had certain risks involved. Primarily amongst those risks was illegality. Whether out of desperation or greed Dodgeson took up the mantle of smuggler, running various illicit goods backwards and forwards across the galaxy. It was a pretty sweet deal as far as he was concerned, travel the galaxy, make a profit and occasionally skim a little out of the more interesting shipments. Naturally he made enemies, who doesn't. Cheif amongst them was one Funbu the Hutt who paid a lot more attention to the inventory of his weapons shipment than Dodgeson was anticipating. The downside of this being that he occasionally had to deal with mercenaries and bounty hunters who wanted to get in Funba's good books, the upside was the huge profit he made selling the experimental blasters himself. Then the Clone Wars happened. For most this was a time of either ignoring the goings on in the wider galaxy or horrible death and destruction. By this time Dodgeson had gained a reputation as one of the go-to-guys for illegal arms trading, so imagine the credit signs in his eyes when he thought of all the planetary militia forces desperately fighting for their homes on the frontier worlds and the resistance movements trying to overthrow their occupying foe. It's enough to make a normal man's stomach curdle, but to Dodgeson it smelt like opportunity. During the Clone Wars Dodgeson went through at least seven freighters running guns to anyone who'd pay extortionate fees for them as well as robbing and looting armouries and battlefields on both sides. It wasn't pretty work but it definitely paid well. At the very least it used to. Imagine the surprise on the arms dealer's face when the news of the Empire came rolling in. The gravy train of war was over, but the worst was yet to come. Dodgeson's kind were suddenly a dying breed as the Imperial boot of oppression cracked down on, as they called themselves, entrepreneurs. Suddenly Dodgeson found himself losing contacts, jobs and, eventually, even his ship. Marooned and now drifting the fringes of the galaxy Dodgeson forces himself onwards, taking what work his skills can buy him as he struggles to adapt to a new era. All he really wants is things to go back to the way they were, but that's impossible, as impossible as the Empire collapsing...
