Description
On a day to day basis, Rowan wears a blue long-sleeved shirt and white pants of formal appearance. They are more durable than they look and suited for the adventures she is sent on. She also has on dark brown boots, white gloves, and a brown belt with a rapier buckled to her left side. To make herself look as masculine as possible, Rowan had her dark blonde hair cut much shorter than it used to be. Her right eye is covered with an eyepatch, but her left blue one is unconcealed. It has a piercing look that is accompanied by a stoic expression in normal situations.
Personality
Rowan believes that since females are seen as more emotional than males, her best way to disguise her gender is to show no signs of her feelings. This is difficult for her to accomplish when in the heat of battle, and it does not make her immune to slipping up when someone pushes her too much in a conversation. Caution is a policy she lives by, so she tries to be wary and analyzes those before her. Though she puts on a strong front, inside she is always concerned that her secret might be exposed. Even so, she cannot deny a strong sense of justice that causes her to rush to the aid of others, which makes her morals match up with the Harpers. She also does what she can to assist her allies, for she does care about their well-being even if she is hesitant to speak to them in her free time.

Rowan and her twin brother, Rylan, were born in a small port town to loving parents. As their father had been an adventurer in his younger years, he taught both of them how to fight with the rapier, as that was the weapon he was most familiar with. Their mother had lived by the sea all her life and made it her priority to teach her children of the jobs one could have in a port town or on a ship. Between the siblings there was much competition and more than one argument. Even so, they loved each other deeply and trusted each other fully. When the twins were fifteen, Rylan vanished one morning without a trace. This worried Rowan and their parents greatly, especially when three days passed without a trace from him. The evening of the third day, a small group of assailants attacked, burning down their house and killing their parents. Rowan took a knife to her right eye before she fell into the nearby waters, though from the smoke it was impossible for them to have seen exactly what happened to her. Though she survived the incident, she was terrified of the people that had tried to kill her. This was especially true since she had distantly heard one mention that “all but the boy must die”. They had been after her brother, but for what, she could not imagine. Determined to find out more and to keep herself alive, Rowan decided to take on the appearance of her brother as close as she could. With her hair cut shorter, her chest bandaged tightly, and her clothes as close to his style as she could get, Rowan began to travel as far as she could. Her goal was to find where Rylan had gone, who the people were that had attacked their family, and tear them apart before they could do the same to her. Three years went by without success. It was at that point that she learned of the Harpers and their code. It was a code similar to the morals she lived by, and being part of an organization such as the Harpers had many benefits. They might be able to point her to the people who had attacked her in their constant fights against evil. Still, she did not want to risk anyone in the organization possibly being a spy or simply letting her identity slip. So she passed herself off as a male even to them. Even with her secret making her nervous and no progress made so far, Rowan has found the Harpers to be an honorable organization that she is proud to support.
