Description
Tall and thin, this human man appears capable of quick movement and swift strikes. His skin is slightly tanned, though hardly enough to be noticeable. What stands out more are the numerous shallow scars he has on his body. Many times they would be covered with clothes. Depending on what he wears, the scars can be spotted on his back, arms, legs, neck, and waist most prominently, though his hands, feet, and face have a few as well. Most do not look as if they came from life-threatening injuries; the only truly noticeable mark is one at the left side of his waist. His hands and feet are not easy to classify as rough or smooth, falling somewhere between instead. His black hair falls in waves to beyond his shoulderblades, and his long bangs make it difficult at times to make out his light blue eyes.
Personality
Most situations would have this man react with a calm demeanor. He tries to think through situations and trusts his instincts. This does not take away from him acting friendly and making small jokes with people he gets comfortable with. He cares about others and tries to keep them safe. To those he has formed close bonds with, he becomes especially protective, to the point that one of the only large emotional responses he will show is if they are threatened.
There was something lurking in the darkness of the cavern. He could hear the scratching of the claws against the stonework. Whatever it was, it felt dangerous. He would have stepped back out if he was alone. There was no sense in going forward, no point in endangering himself to this mysterious creature. Then he heard one of his companions ask if he was ready. Yes, this group of people was relying on him to help. What if one of them got hurt while he hesitated? It would be unforgivable. No matter how well he knew these people, or how much of strangers they might be, it was his job to keep them safe. That was why he said the line that he had grown so accustomed to. "Let me go first."

The shouts were confusing to him. A wanted man? What had he ever done? Of course he would not know. If he could not even remember his own name, how would he know of his crimes? It must have been something serious if to judge by the guards instantly reacting. That was all he could gather. His lungs were already deprived of air, his legs begging him to halt for a moment. But he continued to run. If he stopped, the guards would catch up. That would mean a fight. And a fight with them would probably lead in one, if not more, of them dying. He did not want that. They were just doing their job. Why kill them for that? The fence ahead looked easy to climb. His eyes darted instinctively to the bottom. There was a small crawlspace. It looked nearly impossible for someone his size to get through. Yet he dove for it, tumbling through the passage with such precision that his sides equally scraped the inside of the tunnel. Then he was through, on his feet, and darting ahead once more. It was only a bit further to the woods. Once he got there, he would be in his territory. He would be safe.

Of all the places they had to cross, it was a cliff. A cliff with the trees below being so far that they looked more like small shrubs. He groaned at the sight and staggered back. It made no sense. He had fought past monsters to get here, combated beasts that could give people nightmares while he barely flinched. But this? Just seeing the distance to the ground made him want to curl up and refuse to move. He would be safe. He had his climbing kit. It had equipment to make sure he would not fall. His logical mind told him this. His foolish body still would not budge. He would do anything to get around having to climb down. Even if he had to walk days to make a slow path through the tunnels, he would gladly do so. Anything, so long as he could avoid that height. Then he felt a hand on his shoulder. He took a deep, shuddering breath. Spending days on his own fear was his choice. But it was not fair to those that were with him. He had to endure this for their sake. He looked up and gave a slow nod. He was no less scared, but he would do it.

It was the face he remembered most clearly. Everything else in the recollection felt somewhat distant. Real, but distant. But that face... His face. It was someone that made his heart beat faster, someone who caused him to feel fierce devotion and protectiveness for. He could remember every detail to that face, from his beautifully kept blonde hair to the exact shape of his chin. Before he knew it, his right hand was on the young man's forehead. Hotness greeted his touch, a hotness that spoke of an incoming fever. His left hand brushed the man's left side lightly. Sticky blood greeted his touch. He knew the wound was serious and did not bother to pull his gaze away to confirm it. "Get a cleric now!" The voice sounded strained, worried, distressed... it was odd to hear his voice in such a state. Yet it was indeed his words. They had tumbled from his mouth with such urgency that it was difficult to understand exactly what he had said. Evidently someone had. A person-who, he did not know-answered him from a distance. "Yes, sir!" The sound of running through crunchy leaves and over fallen branches faded in mere seconds. "Hang on." He brushed the man's blonde hair off of his sweaty forehead, making sure his gestures were slow and gentle. "Just a little longer. You'll be okay." The man's eyes fluttered open. His breath caught at the sight of the deep green eyes he stared into. They were full of confusion, fear, and desperation. Desperation not to die. That had to be it. And the sight of those eyes made him even more determined to keep this man alive. "W... why...?" The man only managed to whisper that single word before he began coughing. "Shh. Don't speak. You have to stay still." How could his own voice be so soothing? Had he ever taken such a tone before? It was as if someone foreign was speaking. A part of him that, perhaps, had never gotten a chance to exist until now. To his relief, the man did stop trying to talk. But his eyes continued to plead, to ask what his motivations were. And in this memory, his feelings were as strong as they were that day. He leaned in closer, so close that the man's heated breath could be felt on his cheek, and whispered his answer. There was nobody else to hear, yet he kept his response low and quiet, to ensure it was a moment shared by only the two of them. "Because I love you." He did not know what to expect from the man's next expression. Horror? Disgust? Hatred? Perhaps something worse than any of those three emotions. Yet what he got was something that made his heart practically stop. That face he cared for so much relaxed, and the man managed to give him a weak smile. The man's hand raised toward his head, but only barely before he clasped his wrist, making sure the man could not move and further injure himself. He did not need any cue besides what he saw in the man's clear eyes. It was enough to tell him his feelings, enough to give him the permission he wanted. The man would not die from this. He could not. Yet fear of never getting another chance causes him to lean forward. And a moment later, their lips met.
