Description
Cyrano does not look impressive. Just under 6 feet tall, and quite skinny. He has curled brown hair with matching eyes, and couldn't grow a full beard if his life depended on it, so he settles for what he can get. His nose is small and indistinct, and his mouth bears a slight smile nearly all the time. There's always a confident glow about the man. He always seems to be operating at 110%. You just can't help feeling a little happier or healthier around him. It's almost as if, his mere presence brings good fortune. His clothes are simple and efficient, breeches, tunic with pockets, bandoleer, protective hat, sword and shield. That sword...there's something strange about it. It can talk. Seems "quite keen" (in the sword's own words) on making Cyrano a better hero. Whether he likes it or not.
Personality
Friendly, amiable, helpful, and kind. Cyrano is just a young man trying to do good in the world. If ever there's a hand needed, or a quick errand to be run, Cyrano is and was first to jump to it. His dependable nature, and quirky combination of terminal optimism with a dose of cynicism have caused him to easily make fast friends, and few enemies. Though, his newest traveling companion might have something else to say on that matter. Only time will tell. The sword, which calls itself Caliburn, is a rapier of ornate design. It bears filigree down its blade, with delicate latticework on the hilt and pommel. The blade speaks like a wisend old man, and takes any opportunity to teach Cyrano lessons on swordsmanship, adventuring, and survival. It lives vicariously through the lad, and seems to be truly enjoying its time with him.
Character Traits
He was swept from his average beginnings and taken on a wild adventure without warning or reason. He was simply, the right person, at the right time. Or was he? Always so lucky, he swears he just stumbled upon Caliburn, though the swords keeps speaking of destiny, and fate. The son of a chef and his wife, Cyrano grew up in the kitchen, dodging knives, food, and feet. He'd always had a knack for getting into and out of trouble, so it came as no surprise to him when he found the sword. There was a shop that had been robbed around the time of his 16th birthday. Cyrano took no interest whatsoever. Caliburn, however, took advantage of his theft. Through whatever magic the weapon possessed, Caliburn managed to slice open his thief's satchel and slip into a dark alley and into a sewer. Not the most glamorous of escapes, but at least he was no longer stuck in a chest in a basement. Here, out in the open - so to speak - he could be found and taken up again. It was here, that the lad Cyrano entered into the picture. This alleyway was right behind the bakery, and the boy started having strange thoughts, dreams, and such. He took to exploring the area to try and find the source of these phenomenon, to seek the wizard involved (there was always a wizard). Soon enough, the sword drew the man to it, and from the murky depths of the gutter, the blade was once again to be wielded by a true hero - if Caliburn had anything to say about it. Sure, the blade had worked with better stock, but fresh clay could be molded.
