Description
With his fine white coat and pants, fancy brown shirt with gold buttons, and knee-high blue boots of durable make, Ion's clothing stands out as something only a wealthy man could afford. In comparison to the refined look his outfit gives him, the spiked chain Ion holds in his hands is a jarring contrast. Its black metal links and barbed points look dangerous enough to make even holding it a risk, yet Ion handles it as if it is a natural part of his body. His black hair is neatly cut and falls straight. Any bangs he would have are brushed to the sides of his face, leaving his hard blue eyes visible to anyone seeing him.
Personality
Around strangers, Ion has a hard time expressing his emotions. He tends to come across as cool, though polite. This is more out of fear of slipping up and revealing secret parts of himself to people who he does not trust. To friends and comrades, Ion does a better job of showing his feelings. He fights fiercely to protect those he allies himself with. Sometimes he has awkward moments, such as not understanding certain jokes, but other times he shows such genuine smiles that it seems as if the icy expression on his face has completely melted.

Ion was born as the only child of the ir'Levkin family. His mother was unable to bear any more, which meant all of their hopes in the noble house continuing its glorious reign was reliant on him. They hired the best teachers for their son and pushed him to spend all his time studying. They never showed love for him as a person, focusing instead on what his mind and status could do. Because of this, as Ion grew older, he began to grow more distant from the people he should have loved. Even though he did not have an emotional bond to his parents, he did admire what they were doing. Their actions to help those with Aberrant Dragonmarks were wonderful ones from what they told him. Ion did much studying in that subject to learn more about what could be done for those people. The thought of one day being able to make differences in their lives encouraged him. Perhaps with those he helped, they would be able to help him in return. Due to his secluded lifestyle, he constantly felt lonely and wanted to befriend someone. Ion hoped that his assistance with the Aberrant Dragonmarks would, in the long run, find some companionship. When he was fifteen, Ion stumbled across a secret passage in his parents' study. Going beyond it, he found a horrific location. It was a laboratory to analyze people with the Aberrant Dragonmarks. His parents were funding experiments to try and gain control of the power of the Aberrant Dragonmarks, even if it meant sacrificing the people with it. The realization hit him that for his entire life, his parents had lied to him. They were monstrous people that had no regard for those they claimed to help. Any ongoing cures they mentioned making were just cover ups, and without that, he doubted one had ever been close to existing. Not only was his faith shattered, his goals were lost. In the same instant, a new goal emerged in Ion. There was one living person in the laboratory still. The human girl, who looked to be a bit younger than him, was a trembling figure that clung onto him the moment he offered his arms. When Ion saw that she had an Aberrant Dragonmark, he knew he had to get her away from his parents. Over the years, Ion had trained himself to use a spiked chain as a weapon. He had liked the unusual weapon since people would rarely know how to counter it, as it was so rare to see compared to swords or lances. His practice paid off, for he was able to defeat the guards that tried to stop him and ran away with the girl. He officially discarded his connections to his family by changing his name to Ion Levkin, dropping the noble "ir" that had previously gone with it. As he spent more time with the girl, Ion came to realize just how much she had lost from being a captive. All she could remember was the laboratory. She did not even know if she had a name. Ion gave her the name Dahlia after she picked it as her favorite flower amongst a field they traveled through. Vowing to keep her safe, Ion continued to travel with his new companion. Dahlia did not have memories to speak of, but her personality as a shy and gentle girl was one that Ion began to love her for. Even so, Ion was always concerned. What would happen if the Aberrant Dragonmark seized Dahlia? Though there seemed to be no cure, he wanted to continue searching. The duo began to fall into a pattern. Dahlia would remain at a hideout that Ion found for her, he would go into a town or city to conduct research and gather information, and then they would move on. Most of the time Ion would wear a Hat of Disguise to keep his identity a secret. Other times, he deliberately would keep it off so that his parents and the soldiers that pursued him would be lured into thinking they knew where he was staying. During this time, Dahlia began to have flashbacks to repressed memories of other people with Aberrant Dragonmarks in the laboratory. They had suffered greatly. After a particularly gruesome memory, Dahlia begged Ion to save anyone with an Aberrant Dragonmark that he could. But if he could not, he should kill them to put them out of their misery. He hated the idea of it, but promised Dahlia that if he should come across such a situation, he would carry out her request. Three years passed without any major breakthroughs. But Ion heard that King Boranel was hiring people to pursue those with Aberrant Dragonmarks. This was the best opportunity he had found yet. Ion made sure Dahlia was well hidden before heading off to tackle the issue head-on. - Reputation: Ion Levkin comes from the noble household of ir'Levkin, a house located in Aundair. It is known for its generosity and sympathetic stance on survivors of the War of the Mark. He is a black sheep in the family who has become a wanted criminal. His crimes include stealing a vast amount of wealth from the ir'Levkin family, kidnapping, murder, and resistance of arrest by force. Due to his unusual weapon choice in the spiked chain and expensive clothing, he is easy to identify. His strength and diversity with magic has made it impossible to capture him up to this point, especially since he avoids concentrated areas of guards. It is said that the ir'Levkin family is offering a great reward for Ion to be taken alive and turned over to them. They insist to the public that their son is 'unstable' and that with proper treatment from clerics, he can be restored to the wonderful person he used to be. Most guards take the stance that due to how dangerous he is, killing or capturing is acceptable. There is also a reward placed for the kidnapped victim of Ion, a young woman named Dahlia. If she is to be rescued, the ir'Levkins would be happy to have her back in their care, as she is like a daughter to them. There have been some whispers on the streets from people who have seen Ion. Many times when he has fought guards after him, he knocks them out rather than killing them. He never has attacked a civilian. And it is said that a man with his description has been seen from time to time helping people in need. Most of these rumors are thought to be false, as if the ones making them up are trying to make a hero out of a hardened criminal. This is especially so because of his talent with the spiked chain. As it is a weapon usually associated with slavers, other rumors say that Ion's kidnapping of Dahlia was for slavery purposes, and that he may be seeking to capture more people for those ends. People more often believe he is cruel and sadistic rather than a heroic person.
