Personality / Description
A mass of clockwork gears, leather, and strange glowing crystals, Ultrajack looks like someone tried very hard to give him a generally human appearance, but was more interested in style and function than in replicating a human exactly. In fact, the designer appears to have spent more time making sure the components are well-polished, than in making sure they look appropriate; from the windows in Ultrajack's skull, to the exposed gears and whirrling gizmos in his chest, it is clear that whoever made him wanted to display his skill to the utmost. When moving, Ultrajack is somewhat jerky, but appears competent. On the other hand, even when completely still, the automatron emits a strange whine, as the gyros continue spinning, and his gears grind. Likewise, in the dark, he tends to glow from many cracks and openings in his chassis; not enough to see by, but certainly enough to see him by. Although the pronoun 'him' is a bit redundant; the mechanical man is not exactly anatomically correct, and thus is not a man in any sense of the word. Most of the social world is a bit of an enigma to Ultrajack. He can understand math, and physics, and he knows what to do to keep an airship in the air; but when it comes to personal discussions, he is hopelessly literal, and has only the most superficial understanding of emotions. That is, he knows what they are, and has actually been programmed to feel them, but he doesn't often understand what they look like in other people. No, Ultrajack would much rather deal with things that make sense; the physical laws of the universe are constant, graspable. The intricacies of people... Not so much.

Background & Other Notes
Ultrajack was built by the self-styled genius Orizon the Brilliant, to be a sort of personal assistant/calculator/lab worker, but he has been a slight disappointment. He is quite beautiful, in a strictly mechanical way, but cold, and unable or unwilling to really understand the world as he might. This led to a short stint as an assistant where he would be ordered to do such things as prepare Orizon's dinner; and would not bother serving it. He would be ordered to dig up the garden; and Orizon would end up with a giant hole instead of a yard. Eventually, after he 'cleaned' all the beakers in the lab (whether or not they were being used), Orizon ordered him to 'Get Lost! Get out of my Sight!' Of course, Ultrajack has managed to do this for the last several years, and at this point it is unlikely that Orizon would want him back if he could find him. After his informal liberation, Ultrajack went to great lengths to find a way to 'get lost,' and stay as far away from Orizon's sight as possible. This, naturally, led to becoming an airshipman. With his adaptable programming, Ultrajack was a quick learner, and with his mathematical skills, it turned out to be almost impossible for him to actually get lost. And he occasionally still runs into problems with people who assume he must belong to someone, but he had mostly adapted to his new life. Then, the call from the Queen came...
