Description
Stiva wears dirty brown robes, vaguely reminiscent of those of a Renaissance physician, minus the mask. A few odd tinctures hang from his waste and he wears a large pointed hat and carries a pointed quarterstaff, mainly for decoration. Though heavily warded by magic at all times, he never shows it, keeping all of his spells invisible for the most part. Under the mask is, most frequently, the visage of a grotesque horror. Thin pale skin is stretched over bones with scant musculature beneath. His patchy white hair is long and tangled, but pulled back so as not to disturb his sight. His eyes are different form each other, one green, one blue. His other features seem to writhe and slither. His has bumps, lumps, and vestigial organs and limbs poking out at odd angles.
Personality
Stiva is...odd, to say the least. His train of thought is rarely easy to follow, and his tastes are often as esoteric as his methods. He is fiercely loyal to his friends, those few who would call him so in turn. He loves medical, religious, and arcane knowledge. The doctor is of the belief that there is an answer for everything, multiple ones even. He constantly tinkers with whatever he thinks would be the best solution to any problem. Often, his solutions vary in the middle of enacting one of them. For instance, once during a surgery, he decided to instead attach two severed limbs to the opposite side of his patient. The man also seems to have no concept of a difference between arcane lore and divine power. He seems to regard them as the same thing, referring to magics from either discipline interchangeably. Perhaps his mind was warped by his studies, or his practice of churgery, occult rituals, or simple age induced dementia. Whatever the reason, Dr. K is an odd one, if effective.
Character Traits
When asked of his past, the figure in the dirty brown robes chuckles and cocks his head. He makes a *tisk* sounds a few times and taps his chin through the cloth before speaking. [COLOR="Indigo"][b]"My name is Doctor Stiva Dagrépont Karamazov, and regarding my origins...I forget, it's been so long. From what I've read though, and the bits I remember though, I shall start from as far back as I can. Once upon a time there was a wizard dedicated to magic of the flesh. Conjuration and healing...or was it transmutation...or was it necromancy? No, not necromancy...not at first anyway. He wanted...I wanted to save the world, cure all illness, prolong life, and change his field forever. This naive young doctor performed research in his field, striving to transfer the deathless secrets of outsiders, undead, aberrations, and others to the other races. His colleagues grew jealous of his success...or grew scared of his experiments...or something along those lines. They shunned him...me...and cast him out into the streets. Karamazov had to scrounge his living from the destitute, conducting his experiments in secret. All the while, the man learned the true nature of the immortality he craved. Necromancy was not the only way, just the fastest...the easiest? Transmutation, the most fun at least! Haha! What fun! Together. Yesm. Bind together. The stitching and cutting and flowing energies and...I digress. Some time passed, I'm not sure how long, and I saw the first signs of my own aging. Thus, the young doctor decided to cast his lot with those he serviced in the crypts and dens of filth in which he served. It doesn't matter who did it. But it was me. And it is me. Here I am! And that's the story of Dr. Karamazov."
