Description
Tam is a short, stocky, somewhat square-looking man. He’s in his thirties, but his brow is permanently furrowed and his brown hair is whitening at the sides, making him look older than he really is. His eyes are a deep brown color, and he has creases at the edges that make him look almost constantly on the verge of smiling (unless he wants to appear somber or sad). He wears a plain outfit of simple elegance, much like a lower-middle class man would wear to a fancy party or formal event. His clothes are (usually) well-kept and immaculate.
Personality
Tam is boisterous and friendly by nature, conversing easily with anyone and cracking jokes. He is articulate and well-spoken, and can come off as slightly smarmy. When not in the public eye, he can be somewhat imperious and demanding. He has a habit of snapping his fingers when he’s thinking and of running his hand through his hair unconsciously.

Background: Tam was born into a working-class family in the city. His father was a mid-level blacksmith in a prominent armorer’s shop and his mother held odd jobs to provide a bit of extra income. Early in his life, Tam fell in with a group of neighborhood kids whose parents (unbeknownst to Tam) were connected to organized crime in the city. As he grew older, he began to get involved in the organization, though he was able to remain mostly clear of overtly illegal behavior. In more recent years, he has become increasingly tied to the mob and became one of the men who formed the legitimate face of the mob. He has launched a campaign to increase his political influence in the city, spending much of his time meeting with people around the neighborhood and establishing himself as someone who can help people in trouble. He uses his mob connections to increase his leverage over legitimate city officials, and is well-positioned to take overt political power at the next opportunity.
