Urghosh: 14 Hardness, 11/30 HP Effect: -1 to hit. Banded Mail: 21 Hardness, 40/60 HP Effect: -2 AC Level 1: Tattooed Defender: At first level, the Sworn Shield receives a tattoo on the left side of his face. The ink is normally invisible, but when he is within 30 feet of an Arcani it glows blue. At all times, this tattoo gives a supernatural bonus of +2 to reflex saves and saves against anything mind affecting. When the ink glows , the Sworn Shield gains a +4 supernatural bonus to intimidate. Bodyguard's Challenge: A number of times per day equal to 2+Sworn Shield level(3)+Cha modifier(0 = 5), when he is within 30 feet of an Arcani in melee combat, the Sworn Shield can challenge 1d3 of the Arcani's opponents to come fight him. He makes an intimidation check opposed by a will save (extraordinary, mind affecting). An opponent that fails by 10 or more rushes into combat recklessly, charging at the first opportunity, others engage according to their preference, but they cannot attack the Arcani except for AoEs and areas of effect. This effect lasts for 1d6+cha rounds, after which the enemies act normally. This ability can only be used if no enemies are currently affected by a previous use of it. Enemies who have failed once get a +5 bonus to resist a second challenge. Level 2: -Sworn Protector: At level 2, the Sworn Shield gains a +2 morale bonus to attack and damage rolls against an enemy that he has seen attack an arcani, is attacking one, or he has good reasons to think will attack an arcani in the next 10 rounds or so (10 minutes if fighting a Doomed Rearguard). Sworn Duty: Cover (Ex) - 3 x Encounter, as long as the Sworn Shield is wielding a shield (and is not flatfooted or otherwise prevented from taking action), she may interpose herself between an adjacent ally and an incoming attack as an immediate action. The Sworn Shield absorbs all damage the damage from this single attack, and any additional effects it might have (such as something requiring a save, etc). You must decide to use this ability after the attacker determines the attack has succeeded but before she rolls damage. Level 3: Doomed Rearguard: If the Sworn Shield is fighting a rearguard action that will most likely result in his death to protect an or many arcani, sworn protector bonuses are doubled, he can use his challenge ability on any enemies within 50 feet even if he hasn't taken out those from his previous challenges. He also gains temporary hit points equal to 1d10 (min 4)*3+cha modifier. These hit points are subtracted from his HP total after the Sworn Shield has been out of combat for 1 minute. If this puts him below 0, he has 1 minute to get healed before his death.
