I wouldn't say 'ideal' considering their inferiority in actual combat scenarios. The effective striking surface of an axe is minuscule in comparison to that of a comparably weighted blade, and something like a machete can perform almost all of an axe's utilitarian tasks almost as well as the axe.

And a crowbar...just don't even bother if you have any other meaningful options...

Yeah, a good machete would be nice. A crowbar would be more useful for opening doors, smashing windows (though most suitably heavy objects can do that), and could be used as a weapon in a pinch.

Please guys, I'm sticking my Kilig. Good for rending heads from bodies and smashing through those tough-as-iron glass windows. :P

No one likes the kilij better than me . But it would be much easier to find a machete/crowbar.
