A circumstantial one. I've read a novel a while ago where there was that soldier who received an axe blow through the skull. He survived the blow, but would have died in a few days from the wound. There was an herbalist who gathered a few ingredients and concocted a balm he applied on the soldier's wound, not hoping for much. Turned out the soldier fully healed. Not only that, but he acquired a might regeneration power, becoming immortal!
The only problem is that soldier was completely stupid. The only thing he knew was to make war. So he fought them all, from Middle Age through the First and Second World War, doing nothing but hold a sword or a rifle depending on the era.
Of course he tried to repeat the same balm made by the herborist, but it never worked; he thinks the exact composition have to be repeated. It'd be not just "honey", but the honey gathered by a specific species of bees from a specific species of plant, which plant was fed the exact composition of fertilizer...
