Other Notes:
- 1. What game system are you running (D&D, Call of Cthulu, Palladium, GURPS, etc.), and if applicable what edition (Original, Classic, Revised, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 5th, 10th, etc.)?
D&D 3.5 Edition - 2. What 'type' or variant of game will it be (i.e. "Shadow Chasers" or "Agents of Psi" for d20 Modern)? What is the setting for the game (eg. historic period, published or homebrewed campaign setting, alternate reality, modern world, etc.)?
Though I may be using 3.5 mechanically. The setting is of the 4th Edition game, with references to the Primordials, the Blood War, the Lattice of Heaven, Bael Nurath, the Shadowfell, and the Astral Sea. - 3. How many Players are you looking for? Will you be taking alternates, and if so, how many?
4 to 6 Players - 4. What's the gaming medium (OOTS, chat, e-mail etc.)?
Myth-weavers. - 5. What is the characters' starting status (i.e. experience level)?
Depends - 6. How much gold or other starting funds will the characters begin with?
Wealth-by-Level+50% - 7. Are there any particular character classes, professions, orders, etc. that you want... or do not want? What are your rules on 'prestige' and/or homebrewed classes?
No. Home. Brew. Classes.
Core classes only.
No-campaign-specific classes.
If this is abhorent to you, run something past me. - 8. What races, subraces, species, etc. are allowed for your game? Will you allow homebrewed races or species? 'Prestige' races or species?
No. Home. Brew. Races.
Core races only.
No-campaign-specific races.
If this is abhorent to you, run something past me. - 9. By what method should Players generate their attributes/ability scores and Hit Points?
Roll 5d6, and take the best three rolls.
Roll until you get rolls you can work with.
Don't. Bother. Me. - 10. Does your game use alignment? What are your restrictions, if so?
Yes. Don't use the Stupid ones. NPCs will stomp on you. - 11. Do you allow multi-classing, or have any particular rules in regards to it?
Multi-classing is allowed. No penalties to experience. - 12. Will you be doing all of the die rolling during the course of the game? Will die rolls be altered, or left to the honor system? If players can make die rolls, which ones do they make, how should they make the rolls, and how should they report them?
You roll your rolls. I'll roll mine. I'll try to show all my rules.
Based on the nature of play-by-post, for ease and time-saving, I might check the sheets and roll the dice, the die result remains as it is, but the modifiers can be changed if needed, resulting in retcons. - 13. Are there any homebrewed or optional/variant rules that your Players should know about? If so, list and explain them, or provide relevant links to learn about these new rules.
The house rules are below. No homebrew. Core classes. Official content. - 14. Is a character background required? If so, how big? Are you looking for anything in particular (i.e. the backgrounds all ending up with the characters in the same city)?
Yes. Long enough to cover the important bits and short enough to be interesting. - 15. Does your game involve a lot of hack & slash, puzzle solving, roleplaying, or a combination of the above?
Anything's up for grabs. - 16. Are your Players restricted to particular rulebooks and supplements, or will you be allowing access to non-standard material? What sources can Players use for their characters?
Core classes are preferred. Official content only. No homebrew. Stay away from campaign-specific sourcebooks. - Playing a TheOasysMaster game...
- I have access to virtually every rulebook, I exclusively DM 3.5 Edition, Saga Edition, and if one can convince me, 2nd Edition Advanced Dungeons & Dragons, oh, that was a good system!
- There is an OoC thread. If your post doesn't have IC content, it should be in the OoC thread, with dice rolls in .
- For Character Sheets, I will always use mythweavers.com
- To submit a Character Sheet, go to Myth-Weavers and make your sheet using the relevant sheet template, and upon completion:
- Click 'Edit Users' on your Character Sheet
- In the "New Sheet User' box, put, 'TheOasysMaster'. Select 'Editor'.
- Place a link to the sheet HERE on OotS in the relevant Recruitment Thread.
- Post once a day. If you cannot post for an extended period, be kind enough to say so and explain why. If players are waiting, unexplained, without a post, the DM, me, and a player will determine the best course of action for your character to undertake. If 7 to 10 days pass unexplained without a post, you have 'deadbeated' and your character will be subjected to a) 'rocks fall'; a terrible and humiliating death, b) becoming an NPC, C) being replaced/taken over by another PC/player or d) retconned as appropriate.
- No meta-gaming.
