It did not take much for the rusted chain to give way. It snapped as Zip pulled it apart. As soon as he did, the whole walkway shuddered, falling about an inch and angling off center. Sunny couldn't let out a short shriek, but managed to keep herself from slipping off the walkway.
Meanwhile, the unicorn let out a few expletives, as he raced to make it to the exit. He managed to close the distance between him and Zip, as well as pass him. He seemed focused fully on making it to the exit, not stopping to deal with Zip or Sunny at all, and for good reason. As soon as Zip destroyed the chain, the straining and groaning whining sounds coming from the rest of the chains began to grow louder. Soon, the sound of snapping chains began to echo out throughout the darkness. The walkway shuddered and trembled. The wobbling made it difficult for Sunny and Zip to keep balance, but the unicorn still had his rhythm, so he seemed to move without much difficulty.
