Back when gaming was fun....

Game Description:

Do you miss the 'Old School' gaming days where it was more about the story and adventure and less about rolling the most powerful character and striving for the next level or over-powered magic item?

Are you interested in taking a new character from a small village and having him ( or her ) travel the globe looking for the next adventure?

Would you like to recapture some of the fun of your childhood?

If there is enough interest, I will start a game that is reminescent of the past. A game where the story is more important than the outcome of a die. To make sure everyone would have ( or could get ) a copy of the rules, we will be using the Swords and Wizardry rules ( available here ).

Just a few basics to help you make a decision if interested:
Starting level: 2nd.
Posting Frequency: I'm flexible. I'll try to post every day to keep the story moving. Players should try to post every two day, three at the most. After 7 days of no posting, I'll send out a reminder. After 2 weeks, I'll just look for a replacement.
Deadline for applying: Noon(eastern time) on 10-19
Characters needed: 3-5

Character creation guidelines will be posted in the game's forum soon.

Characters are due by next Friday. If I have more players that I requested, I'll have to decide on who to include at first. I plan on starting it that weekend though.

Question, do we post a seperate thread to roll for stats and out up our apps under the Character Creation folder or do you want just a single application post with the rolls and whatnot in the "character creation/rules" thread?

The following is also posted in the Character Creation thread.

Am I reading this properly in the rules? Only Humans can be single-classed Mages or Priests?

None of the races, other than Human, are allowed to be single-classed Mages or Priests? And none of them can multi-class as Priests?

A single post that contains everything would be great.

I've added a house rule that will make the restrictions a bit better ( I think ). Check the forums.

Hey AlphaDork, Awesome that you are running a game of S&W. I think it may be the first here. At least the first I have heard of. If you find a need to track down players you may want to go over to the old school players thread. We have quite a list of players over there several GMs have filled their game roster just by posting they were running an old school game.

I really like the idea of this, very nostalgic and fun. I've never done PbP before, but I can post daily or more; I'm never far from the internet (or too busy).

Is the party full? Am I too late? please let me know.

Thanks.
