A lover's lament (Poem)
You slowly whither from the earth, from me.
And I can't see, nor can I comprehend,
Why this is how things ever have to be.
Why is there this untimely end?
I hate this whithering you suffer now,
you are a shadow of your recent past.
Forget the time when I made my vow.
And you made yours, this was to be our last.
After you are gone, what should I do, what not?
I don't know how to be alone this day.
I know just you, you are my friend, my Scott.
But my lifespan so far outstretches yours,
that I shall have to learn to pass the years.
Commentary would be appreciated.
