Psi Rifle Technology is a newer application to the Legion's art of conquest. It was developed by the goblins some two years ago and since has replaced most of their range weapon capability. In fact, their rapid, hard hitting, tactics are built around large units using these weapons in battle.
Although it has the appearance of a weapon made up of several electro-mechanical parts it is mainly constructed of a runed solid wood capacitor that, when activated by psionics, sends an energy beam along its length and towards a target. The weapon is powered by a power stone that is inserted into a chamber hidden by a hinged lower hand grip assembly. Any creature with psionic ability can activate a charge by simple putting the butt into their shoulder, pointing the weapon at a target, then touch the power stone through the power stone aperture and mentally designating a target. The target is then subject to a ranged touch attack of the Energy Ray power as listed in the psionic/wilder powers list. Only the Mark III heavy adapter can be used to augment the Energy Ray. Augmenting the ray takes up an extra charge per power point used to augment, (maximum 5). Each power stone holds 30 charges.
The weapon is also fitted with a concentration rail (Conrail). The Conrail is used to focus the psionic energy of the wielder. This feature allows the psionic to trade rate of fire for continued gain of psionic focus. In other words, characters will be able to take 15 when using the Conrail.
There are currently three models being used by Torg's minions. Here are some key abilities of each type:
Mark I - This is the most popular model and comes with the Mark I adapter and wand stud; weight 8lbs

Standard Action - 1x Energy Ray, or
Standard Action - Melee attack as Quarterstaff
Full Round Action - 1x Energy Ray plus Psionic Shot effect (2d6).
With Wand attached, as above plus:
Standard Action - Activate Wand for ranged attack or other effect, or
Standard Action - Melee attack as Wandstrike or as Quarterstaff
Mark II (Sub) - Usually more popular with leadership units; weight 4 lbs
Range within 60 ft
Standard Action - 2x Energy Ray, or
Standard Action - Melee attack as Mace
Full Round Action - 1x Energy Ray plus Psionic Shot effect (2d6).
Mark III (Heavy) - Usually attached to assault units; weight 10 lbs
Range within 120 ft
Standard Action - 1x Energy Ray, or
Standard Action - Melee attack as Quarterstaff
Full Round Action - 1x Augmented Energy Ray
With Selector Switch option
Range 30 ft Cone
Standard Action - 1x Concussion Blast, or
